>> HOPEFULLY EVERYONE CAN CONTINUE TO RALLY AROUND THOSE CAUSES AND SUPPORT THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN HARMED IN THIS TERRIBLE SHOOTING. BEYOND THAT, I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO ATTEND A COMBAT ANTI-SEMITISM MAYOR SUMMIT NEXT WEEK . THERE WAS AN ATTENDANCE OF OVER 225 OFFICIALS AND LEADERS. IT WAS AN INCREDIBLE SIGHT TO SEE. EVERYONE GATHERED AROUND A UNITED CAUSE WHICH WAS NOT LIMITED TO COMBATING ANTI-SEMITISM BUT HATE IN GENERAL. THERE WAS SOME INCREDIBLE PANELS, ONE OF WHICH REALLY STRUCK A CHORD WITH ME BY AN ORGANIZATION CALLED PARENTS FOR PEACE. PARENTS FOR PEACE WAS BASICALLY DESIGNED AND CREATED BY A MUSLIM WOMAN WHO WAS RAISED BY A MUSLIM FATHER AND CHRISTIAN MOTHER.
SHE WAS NEVER ACCEPTED BY EITHER AND ALWAYS WAS KIND OF BY HATE AND BULLYING WHICH LED HER TO CREATE THIS FOUNDATION THAT HAS ALLOWED HER TO TAKE ON THE ROLE OF THE RADICALIZING EXTREMISM, WHETHER IT IS KIDS WHO FOUND THE NEED TO EITHER TURN TO VIOLENCE OR THOSE OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL WHO HAVE BECOME SO RADICALIZED AND ONE OF THEM ACTUALLY TURNING A FORMER AND TO SOMEONE NOW DEDICATING HIS LIFE TO GOING OUT AND TEACHING AND EDUCATING ABOUT THE NEED TO ERADICATE HATE AND ALL OF ITS FORMS . IT WAS AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE, I THINK THERE'S A LOT OF TOOLS AND THINGS SHARED BY MAYORS ACROSS THE COUNTRY THAT I HOPE WE CAN BRING BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY. THE FORTUNATE THING IS UNLIKE SOME OTHER COMMUNITIES THERE AND SHARED THEIR STORIES, WE HAVE ONE OF THE MOST ACCEPTING AND DIVERSE COMMUNITIES OUT OF EVERYONE I'VE HEARD FROM THERE. WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE WORK TO DO, THAT IS THE NATURE OF CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT . WE ARE FORTUNATE WE DON'T HAVE NEARLY AS MUCH TO DO WITH OTHERS. FROM THERE, I WENT TO THE HATE AND NOW EXHIBIT FOR THE INSIGHT EDUCATION PROGRAM. I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE SPECIALTHANKS TO SHARON CUTLER FOR HELPING ORGANIZE THAT. OUR FIRE DEPARTMENT COULDN'T DO THIS THIS YEAR, BUT WITH THE HELP OF OUR FIRE DEPARTMENT AND SO MANY OTHERS INCLUDING THE FOLKS AT THE FARMS AND THE FAMILY, THEY DONNED OUTFITS, GOT A SLEIGH AND WENT TO OUR COMMUNITY AND BROUGHT SOME JOY TO THE FAMILIES AND PARKLAND. I WANT TO THANK THEM FOR THAT. AS THE VICE MAYOR SAID THE CATTLE CAR EXHIBIT WAS PHENOMENAL. I WANT TO THANK ETHAN AND MALLORY. SHARON CUTLER, FRIENDS OF THE PARKLAND LIBRARY, SHERRY KIMBALL AND ALL THOSE INVOLVED.
THEY BROUGHT A CATTLE CAR TO EDUCATE FOLKS ON THE HOLOCAUST AND WHAT THOSE WERE USED FOR DURING THE HOLOCAUST. IT WAS A 20 MINUTE PRESENTATION THAT WAS VERY POWERFUL AND IMPACTFUL.
THEY'VE GONE AROUND THE COUNTRY. REALLY AN EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY THAT NOT MANY COMMUNITIES LIKE OURS HAVE TO LEARN ABOUT THIS. I WANT TO THANK THEM FOR BRINGING THAT TO PARKLAND. WE HAD AN AMAZING LIGHT OF THE PARK EVENT. I WANT TO THANK THE PARKS AND REC FOLKS . CHRISTINA AND HER STAFF WERE PUTTING ON FELICIA AND EVERYONE FOR PUTTING ON AN AMAZING EVENT WELL IMPRESSED BY THE COMMUNITY AS IT SEEMS TO BE GETTING BETTER EVERY YEAR. IT WAS REALLY WONDERFUL. I THINK I HAD MY FIRST MCDONALD'S CHEESEBURGER IN A DECADE. WELL WORTH IT. LIGHT UP THE PARK WAS A WONDERFUL EVENT. IT WAS REALLY FUN TO SEE THE FAMILIES COMING OUT. THE PARKS AND REC THIS TIME OF YEAR IS HARD TO PUT INTO WORDS THE AMOUNT OF HARD WORK THAT THE ENTIRE TEAM PUTS INTO THE EVENTS FOR THE COMMUNITY DURING THIS TIME OF YEAR AND THEY ARE BACK TO BACK AND I SAW THEM OUT THERE TODAY PREPARING FOR SNOW FEST. IT'S JUST CONSTANT WORK. I WANT TO EXPRESS MY APPRECIATION TO THAT . FARMERS MARKET WAS GREAT. A LITTLE WINDY. MAKE SURE YOU ARE PROPERLY SECURED DOWN WITH WEIGHTS . THE SOUL PUMPKINS AT A STANDALONE PUMPKIN PATCH AT THE EQUESTRIAN CENTER AS THEY DROVE PAST AND DECIDED THEY MAY HAVE NOT REALIZED THERE SUPPORTING A GREAT CAUSE. THE PROCEEDS FROM THE PUMPKIN PATCH ARE BEING PRESENTED TO THE GINA ROSE MEMORIAL FOUNDATION. IN THAT CIRCUMSTANCE AS WELL IS THE CIRCUMSTANCE WHERE THE CITY DEFAULTED ON THE AGREEMENT WHERE WE DID SOME INTENTIONAL ACT THAT PREVENTED THEM FROM MOVING FORWARD WITH THOSE DEVELOPMENT PROPOSALS. THE WORD WILLFUL WAS ADDED TO MAKE IT CLEAR THERE NEEDS TO BE INTENTIONAL ACT, NOT SOMETHING BY MISTAKE. WE GRANTED EASEMENT IN THE INTERIM OVER THE WHOLE ENTIRE SITE TO SOME NEW PROPERTY OWNER OR SOME OTHER PROPERTY OWNER NOT EXISTENCE IN THIS TIME. NOW LIFETIME CAN'T DO ANYTHING. AS AN EXAMPLE. THE FINAL THING WAS BASED ON ONE OF THE REQUESTS . ARTICLE 15.2 AT THE VERY END OF AGREEMENT WAS ADDED. IT IS A RIGHT OF FIRST REFUSAL. NOT ONLY DO WE NOW WITH THE SALE OF THIS LAND MAKE OURSELVES WHOLE FROM OUR INITIAL INVESTMENT, OUR INITIAL INVESTMENT ON THIS PROPERTY IN ITS ENTIRETY WAS $25.5 MILLION.WE WILL RECEIVE ONCE THE CLOSING HAPPENS $19.5 MILLION FROM TOLL BROTHERS AND NOW $6 MILLION FROM LIFETIME.
