[4. Approval of Minutes]

JEFF WOLFE. >> HERE.

APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES FROM OUR MAY TENTH, 2022 MEETING HAS EVERYONE HAD AN OPPORTUNITY TO REVIEW THE MEETINGS? CAN I GET A MOTION TO APPROVE THE MINUTES?

>> MOTION TO APPROVE THE MINUTES.

>> ANYONE OPPOSED, PLEASE SHOW NEXT, WE HAVE THE COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ANY NONAGENDA

ITEMS. >> I DON'T SEE ANYBODY HERE

[6. Comments by the Chair and Board]

INAUDIBLE ] MOVE ON. BASICALLY NOW WE HAVE THE COMMENTS FROM THE CHAIR AND THE BOARD.

I'M JUST GOING TO MAKE IT QUICK, WAS VERY HAPPY TO HEAR THAT THE CITY COMMISSION UNANIMOUSLY VOTED TO LOOK INTO THE POSSIBILITY OF PURCHASING THE FORMER HERON BAY GOLF COURSE.

IF NOTHING ELSE, ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF HOW OUR ELECTED OFFICIALS SEE A CONCERN, THAT ROF THEIR RESIDENTS AND TAKE STEPS TO POSSIBLY SEE THOSE CONCERNS I AM ANXIOUS TO SEE HOW THAT GOES, ONCE THEY FINISH THEIR DUE DILIGENCE AND FIND OUT INAUDIBLE ] SO I WILL KEEP MY COMMENTS BRIEF SO JEFF, ANYTHING THAT YOU WANT TO SAY.

>> WE HAD A SNAFU ON THE OTHER MEETING, AND THANK YOU, THAT WAS REALLY TOUGH. IT WAS ENJOYABLE, BUT VERY TOUGH

TO SCORE THAT. >> RUPERT?

>> YES. >> FIRST, LET ME SAY WELCOME JACKIE

AND EVERYTHING LIKE THAT. >> ALSO TO WITH REGARD TO INAUDIBLE ] THE WAS ROBBED, ALONG WITH A COUPLE OF MY NEIGHBORS IN THE PARKLAND

RESERVE NEIGHBORHOOD. >> AND

SOLVED. >> WHO KNOWS, WHO KNOWS.

NABS. .

>>

>>

ARREST? >> YES THEY DID.

>> CARA. >> I DON'T HAVE TOO MUCH.

BUT I DO WANT TO REITERATE WHAT JEFF SAID HE WAS ON THE INTERVIEW PANEL WITH HIM. AND ALL OF THE CANDIDATES WERE OUTSTANDING. AND HONESTLY I KNOW THAT'S COMING UP LATER IN THE EVENING. I DON'T KNOW HOW WE ARE GOING TO DO

>> I THINK THAT YOU GUYS ALREADY KNOW WHO THE TOP FIVE ARE I GUESS. WE GOT THE SCORES FROM THE APPLICATION PROCESS, AND COMBINED WITH THE SCORES FROM THE INTERVIEWS. GOOD

>> FOR THE RECORD RECORD, JACKIE WEYMEYEER.

>> WE WILL GO OVER THAT LATER. >> WE HAD THREE OF THE MEMBERS SCORING THE APPLICATIONS AND THE SA'S, WE GOT ALL OF THOSE SCORES COMBINED THEM WITH THE SCORES FROM YOU ALL WHO DID THE INTERVIEWS. PUT THEM TOGETHER, AND WE HAVE EVERYBODY NUMERICALLY RANKED IN THAT WAY.

>> NEXT SHARRY? >> HERE WE GO, LET'S HEAR IT.

[00:05:03]

>> FIRST, I WANT TO EXPRESS MY SINCERE GRATITUDE FOR THE WONDERFUL PARKLAND SUMMER.

PICKLE BALL AND TENNIS ALMOST EVERY DAY.

THERE'S SOMETHING FUN FOR EVERYONE OF EVERY AGE IN EVERY COMMUNITY IN THIS GREAT CITY, AND I AM FOR ONE VERY GRATEFUL.

HOPEFULLY THERE WILL COME A TIME WHEN THIS KIND OF CHATTER WILL BE UNHEARD OF, AND WE THANK TO INCLUDING MANY FROM HERE IN PARKLAND, AND JUST SO MANY WILL OTHERS WHO WERE OUT THERE TRYING TO MAKE A

POSITIVE DIFFERENCE. >> AND.

>> PHOTOGRAPH. MEASUREMENTS IS A COMPLICATED UNDERTAKING. NEXT THE ORIGINAL PICTURE OF THE ARTIST FROM THE STUDIO THAT'S THE THE LIBRARY STAFF AMONG THE FRIENDS HAVE SELECTED ONE, POSSIBLY TWO IF IT DOESN'T WORK AT THE LOCATION BY THEN.

BUT WE

>> AND HOPEFULLY

[00:10:02]

BECAUSE I WANTED THEM TO KNOW THAT'S COMING AND GRAND OPENING SOMETHING LIKE THAT IN THE NEAR FUTURE.

AND IT'S JUST FANTASTIC. >> SOMETHING SPECIAL, UNUSUAL, AND HOPEFULLY EVEN MAYBE A PARKLAND VISIT OR TOURIST

ATTRACTION, WHO KNOWS. >> AND FRIENDS OF THE PARKLAND LIBRARY HOPE THAT THE BENCH AND COMFORT. AND THE LAST THING THAT I WANT TO SHARE IS WITH REGARDS TO ] HIMSELF AS A HUMAN BEING HERE IN THE CITY OF PARKLAND IS MOVING, HOPING TO HIS CHILDREN AND HAS BEEN A MAJOR PART OF THE PARKLAND LIBRARY FOR WHAT FEELS LIKE EVER, NOT ONLY THE LIBRARY DIRECTOR, HE RAN ALL OF THE LIBRARY DONATIONS, LIBRARY BOOK LIBRARY EXPANSION, AND RENOVATION PROJECT, AND HE ALSO WORKED ALONGSIDE THE LOCAL PARKLAND TROOP TO MAKE THE BUTTERFLY GARDENS, AND A COME TELL PLACE GARDEN SO STUDENTS CAN GO AND RELAX, AND MEDITATE. I WOULD LIKE TO PUBLICLY THANK MR. JOE GREEN FOR MAKING A POSITIVE DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY, BEING A LEADER AND FACILITATOR TO THE PARKLAND

INAUDIBLE ]. >> THANK YOU, SHARRY.

>> I WANT TO WELCOME COMMISSIONER MYERSON, FOR

JOINING US TONIGHT. >> GOOD FOR YOU TO BE HERE.

WITH THAT, NO, IT'S TOO LATE. WE ALREADY WENT THERE.

>> JEFF DID IT. KEN KENNEDY /* KEN KENDRA.

[7. Approval of the Agenda]

. >> K>> KENDRA.

>> IT WE WILL MOVE TO THE APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA.

>> MOTION. >> CANNED I GET A SECOND.

>> SECOND. >> ALL IN FAVOR SAY AYE

>> AYE. >> THAT PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.

[9. Old Business]

>> NEXT WE WILL GO ON TO NEW BUSINESS.

>> I SEE NO NEW BUSINESS ON THE AGENDA, NOW WE WILL GO ON TO OLD BUSINESS, AND FOR OLD BUSINESS, WE HAVE INCLUSION, DIVERSITY SUBCOMMITTEE, YOUTH AMBASSADOR PROGRAM UPDATE, AND THE COMMUNITY SERVICES PROJECT UPDATE.

JACKIE TAKE IT FROM HERE. >> THANK YOU VERY MUCH S YES, WE DEFINITELY HAVE SOME OLD BUSINESS THAT WE NEED TO DISCUSS. SO BEGINNING WITH THE INCLUSION AND DIVERSITY SUBCOMMITTEE UPDATE.

THERE HAS BEEN NO SUBCOMMITTEE MEETING SINCE THE LAST CAB, MEETING, AS YOU KNOW, YOU PROPOSED ADDING THE MULTICULTURAL AWARENESS TO ONE OF THE THEMED FARMERS MARKET.

WE LEFT FOR YOU A FLYER FOR THIS UPCOMING YEAR'S FARMERS MARK

EGGS. >> AND YOU WILL NOTICE ON NOVEMBER 20TH, THAT IS THE CULTURAL AWARENESS, AND INCLUSION-THEMED FARMERS MARKET. SO IN LOOKING TOWARDS THE FARMERS MARKET, I HAVE SOME INFORMATION HERE FROM PARKS AND RECREATION ABOUT HOW THEY PUT THIS ALL TOGETHER.

BUT BASICALLY, THEY ARE LOOKING FOR SOME GREAT POTENTIAL VENDORS FOR THIS PART OF THE MARKET. ANYBODY WHO WOULD QUALIFY, THERE'S INFORMATION HERE ON THIS FLYER.

VENDOR COULD BE FOOD, APPAREL, JEWELRY, A CRAFT, AS LONG AS IT MEETS THE CULTURAL AWARENESS THEME.

THE VENDORS RECEIVE A TEN BY TEN SPACE.

THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR TENT.

THEY ARE REQUIRED TO HAVE TENT WEIGHTS, TABLES, CHAIRS AND THE PRODUCT THAT THEY ARE SELLING. THERE'S NO ELECTRIC AVAILABLE.

IF THEY WANT TO PROVIDE THEIR OWN GENERATOR, THEY WOULD JUST NEED TO KNOW THAT IN PARKS AND RECREATION, SO THAT THEY CAN GET SOME INFORMATION TO ASSIST, AND AGAIN, THEY ARE LOOKING FOR A GOOD MIX OF VENDORS AND REPRESENTATION OF DIFFERENT CULTURES THAT WE CAN HAVE AT THIS EVENT.

[00:15:02]

. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE IN INFORMATION WITH ANY POTENTIAL VENDOR, PLEASE, WE ARE ENCOURAGING YOU TO DO THAT. AND THE SAME THING, IF YOU HAVE SOME CONTACT INFORMATION FOR US ABOUT POTENTIAL VENDORS, PATHS WOULD BE HAPPY TO REACH OUT TO THEM AS WELL.

AS A MATTER OF FACTS WE HAVE SOME VENDOR INFORMATION FROM OUR RECENT AUTISM AWARE EVENT, SO WE WILL BE REEVING OUT TO THOSE PEOPLE AS WELL. SO ANY HELP THAT YOU CAN GIVE US IN GOING AHEAD AND GETTING US SOME GREAT VENDORS FOR THIS

EVENT, THAT WOULD BE WONDERFUL. >> ARE WE GOING TO HAVE A BOOTH

SET UP. >> THE CAB, CAN HAVE A TENT

ABSOLUTELY. >> I CAN LIKING THE FACT THAT

IT'S THE NOVEMBER 20TH >> IT'S A GREAT TIME OF YEAR

>> >> THAT MIGHT BE GOOD TO TALK ABOUT DURING THAT SEGMENT THERE.

WE DO NOT ONLY NEED TO TALK ABOUT WHERE YOU WOULD BE SOLICITING SOME DONATIONS BUT WHAT WE ARE GOING TO BE DOING.

SO GOOD POINT. ANY OTHER QUESTIONS ON THE

EVENT? >> IS THERE ANY MEETING SCHEDULED FOR THE COMMITTEE? DURING THE SUMMER, OR ANYTIME

BEFORE NOVEMBER NOW? >> WE DON'T HAVE ANY PLANS

>> ARE WE COMMUNICATING WITH THE REPRESENTATIVES ABOUT WHAT WE ARE DOING AND STUFF LIKE THAT

>> I CAN CERTAINLY REACH OUT AND SEND HER THIS INFORMATION, THAT I AM GIVING TO ALL OF YOU FOR SURE.

>> I WOULD BE HAPPY TO. >> I THINK THAT WE WILL BE HAPPY TO SEE WHAT'S GOING ON THE E-MAIL LETTING HER KNOW THAT WE

PART OF THAT. >> ABSOLUTELY.

>> THAT WOULD BE GREAT. I WILL DEFINITELY SEND THAT OUT

TO HER. >> MAYBE SHE MIGHT HAVE SOME SUGGESTIONS OF SOME VENDORS AND

>> SURE. ABSOLUTELY.

>> MOVING ON TO PRESERVING PARKLAND HISTORY UPDATES.

SO I DID ALSO, ONE OF THE OTHER THINGS THAT I LEFT UP FOR YOU IS A LITTLE BIT OF INFORMATION ABOUT THE PARKLAND DAYS PARADE, BECAUSE I KNOW THAT YOU ALL ARE LOOKING FOR A LITTLE BIT MORE INFORMATION TO GET THE FLOAT TOGETHER.

WE'VE GOT ALL OF OUR LEADS ASSIGNED FOR THE FLOAT.

BUT I WANTED TO GIVE YOU A LITTLE BIT OF INFORMATION THAT WE ARE GETTING ABOUT THE PARADE. THERE'S A PARKLAND DAYS MEETING TOMORROW NIGHT. THERE'S A PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD MEETING NEXT MEETING. S MONDAY.

SO WHEN IT COMES TO THE TIMELINE THAT YOU ARE ARE LOOKING FOR, THAT'S SOMETHING THAT WE MAY BE ABLE TO DEVELOP AS YOU GET MORE INFORMATION. AS YOU CAN SEE HERE FROM THE PARADE INFORMATION, THEY DO HAVE THE ROUTE, STARTING AT PINE ISLAND AND NOBB HILL ROAD, AND GOING SOUTH ON PINE ISLAND ROAD, TURNING WEST ON PINE TRAILS ROAD, TURNING WEST ONTO PINES TRAIL PARK. THERE WILL BE FLOAT APPLICATIONS SO THAT PEOPLE CAN START REGISTERING IN OCTOBER.

AND THERE'S A WHOLE LIST OF RULES HERE, THINGS THAT PEOPLE WOULD NEED TO KNOW WHEN THEY ARE DESIGNING THEIR FLOAT.

SO NO THROWING THINGS FROM THE FLOATS.

MAKING SURE THAT PROPS ON THE FLOAT DON'T SEEN 12 FEET OR WIDTH. THAT THE LIGHTS ARE FULLY OPERATIONAL. FLOATS NOT EXCEEDING 55 IN LENGTH, AND THE PLATFORM BEING STURDY AND CAPABLE OF CARRYING THE WEIGHT. ALL OF THE VEHICLES MUST BE PROPERLY REGISTERED AND INSURED, AND THAT IS ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE RECOGNIZED EARLY ON. ENSURING THAT WE HAVE A CLEARANCE OF 12 INCHES FROM THE GROUND, AND NOT DRAGGING

ANYTHING FROM THE VEHICLE. >> PARTICIPANTS NOT JUMPING ON OR OFF THE FLOAT DURING THE PARADE.

AND MAKING SURE THAT DECORATIVE MATERIALS ARE STRUCTURALLY SOUND. MAKING SURE THAT ANYBODY WHO IS GOING TO BE OPERATING THAT FLOAT HAS TO BE AT A SAFETY MEETING PRIOR TO THE PARADE. AND IF THERE'S ANY MUSIC OR PROJECTION AS PART OF THE FLOAT, SOMETHING THAT PARKS AND RECREATION WOULD NEED TO KNOW AHEAD OF TIME.

SO ONCE THEY GET REGISTRATIONS THEY WILL BE SENDING OUT DETAILED INFORMATION, AND THEY WILL HAVE SOME PREPARADE MEETINGS. THERE WILL BE BE A GRAND STAND AREA, WHERE THERE WILL BE AN ANNOUNCEMENT OF EACH PARADE UNIT, AND THE UNITS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO STOP IN FRONT GRAND STAND AREA. LET ME SEE WHAT OTHER INFORMATION. SO THIS IS THE PARADE THAT IS AT 10:00 A.M., AND THE MAIN EVENT LATER ON FROM 4 TO 9 WILL HAVE

[00:20:02]

MUSICAL PERFORMANCE, THE FOOD COURT.

THE BUSINESS ESCORT. >> THE PARKLAND VARIETY OF FOOD THAT WE DISCUSSED AND THE KIDS ZONE AND A WHOLE LOT MORE.

WE WILL DEFINITELY GET A TIMELINE FOR YOU TOGETHER AS SOON AS WE HAVE THE INFO. BUT THIS IS MORE INFORMATION THAN WE'VE IN A WHILE AS WE GET CLOSER TO THE EVENT.

AND SPEAKING OF PRESERVING PARKLAND HISTORY, I KNOW THAT SHARRY WAS KIND ENOUGH TO COMMUNICATE WITH ALL OF THE HOA, PRESIDENTS ABOUT THE POTENTIAL OF HAVING THEM -- HAVE THAT HISTORY TALK THAT I KNOW THAT A FEW OF THE HOA'S WERE ABLE TO HAVE BEFORE. HAVE WE HEARD ANYTHING BACK FROM

THE HOA, PRESIDENT'S? >>

>> THANK YOU FOR TOGETHER THAT INITIALLY TOO.

ANY OTHER QUESTIONS ON PRESERVING PARKLAND HISTORY?

>> SO I KNOW THAT THIS IS SOMETHING THAT YOU ALL HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR SOME INFORMATION ON IS THE YOUTH AMBASSADOR PROGRAM SELECTION. SO JUST TO RECAP, WE HAD 13 APPLICATIONS, AND WE HAD THREE OF YOU REVIEW ALL OF THE APPLICATIONS OF THE WHOLE PACKET, AND THREE OF YOU DO THE INTERVIEWS. THANK YOU ALL FOR TAKING THE TIME TO REVIEW EVERYTHING CAREFULLY, AND TO INTERVIEW THESE STUDENTS. AND YOU ARE ALL RIGHT, THEY ARE A WONDERFUL GROUP OF STUDENTS, AND PARKLAND DEFINITELY HAS A LOT TO BE PROUD OF WHEN IT COMES TO OUR YOUTH.

>> YOU ALL HAD A DIFFICULT JOB TO SCORE THESE STUDENTS.

WE TOOK THE SCORING FROM EVERYBODY WHO LOOKED AT THE AMOUNT CAUTION PACKETS. THE SCORING FROM EVERYBODY WHO DID THE INTERVIEWS, PUT THEM TOGETHER, AND IT'S KIND OF A MIRACLE, THAT WE DID NOT HAVE A

DURING THE SCORING. >> SO WE ARE THANKFUL FOR THAT.

WE HAVE OUR TOP FIVE. BUT I JUST WANTED TO BE SURE THAT WE ARE ALL IN AGREEMENT ABOUT HOW WE CAME TOGETHER WITH THE SCORES, ABOUT BEFORE OF WE LET YOU KNOW WHO THOSE TOP FIVE ARE. THE TOP FIVE ARE ANGEL EVEN A

KENNEDY. >> INA

KENNEDY. >> YOUR.

AIR ON A, MACY MICE, AND CHARLOTTE KANTER.

YOU KNOW THAT WAS DIFFICULT. BECAUSE THEY WERE ALL WONDERFUL.

WONDERFUL STUDENTS. >> LET ME START WITH THE FIRST

ONE, ANGELINA KENNEDY. >> I WILL NEVER FORGET THAT ONE.

>> ARIA. MACY MICE, EVA, AND CHARLOTTE KANTER. SO WHERE WE ARE MOVING FROM HERE NEXT IS WE WILL BE SENDING OUT SOME LETTERS TO EVERY APPLICANT JUST TO ENSURE THAT THEY KNOW HOW MUCH WE APPRECIATE THEIR GOING THROUGH THIS PROCESS. FOR THOSE WHO WERE SELECTED, THEY WILL RECEIVE AN AGREEMENT, IT'S KIND OF LIKE A TIME AND COMMITMENT AGREEMENT, BECAUSE THEY WILL BE RECEIVING TEN HOURS A MONTH AT LEAST OF MAYBE SERVICE, HOURS, THEY WILL BE RECEIVING A SCHOLARSHIP AT THE END OF THE PROGRAM.

SO WE WANT TO ENSURE THAT THEY CAN GO COMMIT TO THIS PROGRAM.

THESE ARE ALL STUDENTS THAT ARE VERY BUSY, I KNOW.

SO WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT THEY ALL UNDERSTAND THAT TIME COMMITMENT. SO THEY WILL SIGN THAT TIME COMMITMENT. WE'VE GOT KIND OF A TEN ATIVE SCHEDULE FOR THEM. SO THEY HAVE AN IDEA OF WHAT THINGS LOOK LIKE FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR, AND THEN WE WOULD LIKE TO DO IS INTRODUCE THEM AT THE AUGUST 17TH CITY COMMISSION MEETING BECAUSE IT WOULD BE WONDERFUL IF YOU ALL COULD MAKE

[00:25:02]

IT, BECAUSE I'D ALSO LIKE TO VOICE MY APPRECIATION FOR THE HARD WORK THAT YOU ALL HAVE DONE TO THE PUBLIC, AND TO THE COMMISSION FOR BEING ABLE TO SELECT THIS GROUP OF STUDENTS.

>> BEING A PUBLIC MEETING WHEN I GO HOME TONIGHT, AND IF I MENTION, DO YOU WANT THEM IT, OR DO YOU WANT THEM TO WAIT FOR THE

LETTERS. >> WE ARE IN PUBLIC RIGHT NOW.

SO I THINK THAT'S OKAY TO SHARE THE INFORMATION.

BUT WE WILL BE SENDING OUT THE LETTERS AND EVERYTHING TOMORROW.

>> BECAUSE I KNOW I AM GOING TO GET ASKED THE QUESTION WHEN I GET HOME, I WANT TO BE SURE I DO THIS RIGHT.

>> WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE GOOD AT HOME TONIGHT.

>> OF. >> CAN YOU SOMEONE SEND US A REMINDER ABOUT THE AUGUST 17TH MEETING?

>> THAT'S NOT A PROBLEM, I AM SURE WE CAN DO THAT.

WHEN WE HAVE THIS COMMITMENT LETTER FOR THE STUDENTS.

IN CASE ANYBODY DECIDES THAT THEY CAN'T MAKE THAT COMMITMENT TO THE PROGRAM, WHAT WE WOULD DO IN THAT CASE IS GO TO THE NEXT HIGHEST SCORE, THE NUMBER SIXTH PERSON, AND SO IF WE NEEDED TO.

BUT EVEN AGAIN WITH ALL OF THOSE SCORES THERE WEREN'T ANY TIES WHATSOEVER IN THE GROUP, SO WE KNOW IT WOULD BE THE NEXT SIXTH,

OR 7TH THAT WE SHOULD NEED. >> IN THE LETTERS OF THE KIDS THAT THERE'S AN OPPORTUNITY IF ANYBODY DROPS OUT OR

]? >> I DON'T THINK THAT WE HAVE THAT IN THE LETTER. IT'S SOMETHING THAT WE COULD DISCUSS WITH THEM FOR SURE IS THAT THERE'S AN OPPORTUNITY.

AM I JUST -- WE HAVEN'T GIVEN ANYBODY WHAT THEIR RANK IS LET'S

SAY. >> THEY KNOW THAT INFORMATION.

>> WE HAVE THAT. SO WE HAVE THAT.

>> WHAT WE DO IS THE LETTER TO THE APPLICANT WONDERFUL IDEA, THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

>> ALSO IN THAT THEME, MAYBE WE CAN KEEP THIS SHORT LIST TOGETHER BECAUSE IF WE NEED TO CONVEY LIKE A GROUP OF YOUTH FOR FEEDBACK OR SOMETHING DOWN THE ROAD FOR THE CITY, I MEAN THESE ARE ALL VERY GOOD VIABLE CANDIDATES.

>> ABSOLUTELY. >> AND WE HAVE GOOD FEEDBACK FOR WHERE WE ARE GOING, AND WHAT WE ARE DOING RIGHT, AND WHAT WE ARE

DOING WRONG. >> GREAT IDEA.

SO THANK YOU ALL FOR DOING THAT HARD WORK IN CHOOSING THESE

STUDENTS FOR THE PROGRAM. >> NEXT OLD BUSINESS IS THE COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT UPDATE.

SOLACE TIME WE HAD RENE HERMAN HERE FROM HARVEST DRIVE, AND SHE GAVE A PRESENTATION AND TALKED ALL ABOUT THE DIFFERENT AREAS OF NEED THAT THEY HAVE. IT WAS GREAT TO HEAR THAT THEY HAVE THIS STORE WHERE THEY CAN ALLOW PEOPLE TO KIND OF GO AND SHOP FOR SOME OF THE NEEDS THAT THEY HAVE.

BUT WHAT IT LOOKED LIKE IS THAT THEY HAD SEVERAL DIFFERENT TYPES OF NEEDS. I KNOW IN THE PAST WHEN WE PARTICIPATED, IT'S REALLY BEEN MORE OF A FOOD DRIVE, AND IT'S BEEN AROUND THANKSGIVING TIME. BUT.

TAKING A LOOK AT THE FLYERS THAT SHE PROVIDED TO US LAST TIME THEY ALSO HAVE A NEED FOR A TOILETRY CAMPAIGN, THAT'S SOMETHING THAT THEY PUT A FLYER TOGETHER FOR US AS WELL.

AND THEY DID HAVE SOME BOUTIQUES WISHLIST ITEMS. SOME OF THEM WERE CLOTHING BUT IT WAS MORE CHILDREN'S CLOTHING OR LARGER ADULT CLOTHING, CHILDREN'S SHOES, LINENS, HOUSEHOLD ITEMS AND THE LIKE. SO IF YOU'D LIKE TO MOVE FORWARD WITH WORKING WITH HARVEST DRIVE AGAIN, I THINK THAT IT WOULD BE KIND OF CHOOSING WHAT AREA YOU MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN DOING THIS DRIVE FOR SINCE THEY HAVE A NEED FOR JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING.

YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHOOSE SOMETHING IN PARTICULAR, LET'S SAY IT WAS A TOILETRY DRIVE, AN ABLE TO DO THAT.

>> WELL, WE HAVE THE 20TH LINED UP FOR FOOD IN NOVEMBER.

WHEN'S THANKSGIVING, LIKE THE 24TH?

>> THE 24TH SOUND ABOUT WHERE IT WOULD BE.

I CAN TAKE A QUICK LOOK ON THE CALENDAR.

IF WE DO HAVE THE FOOD, WE MIGHT AS WELL UTILIZE THE FACT THAT WE HAVE A DROPOFF POINT. THEN MAYBE WE CAN HAVE PEOPLE BRING FOODS, AND TOILETRIES, AND THINGS OF THE LIKE.

[00:30:03]

OBVIOUSLY, THEY HAVE A NEED AND MAYBE WE SHOULD TRY TO FULFILL THAT NEED, AND THE NEED IS FOOD, AND THE NEED IS TOILETRIES, AND SOMEHOW THAT INCORPORATES THAT 20TH TO WOR OUT BEING THERE, AND MAYBE WE COULD MAKE THAT A DROPOFF POINT, AND YOU ARE CORRECT. IT IS THE THANKSGIVING THIS YEAR

IS ON THE 24TH. >> GOOD BECAUSE THE FOOD WON'T SPOIL. IT WILL BE FRESH.

LOOKING FORWARD TO THANKSGIVING SO PEOPLE CAN DROP IT OFF.

>>. IF THEY ARE DROPPING ANYTHING OFF, AND AGAIN I WOULD HAVE TO CHECK AND MAKE SURE THAT'S SOMETHING THAT WE CAN DO AT THE NATIONALSER MARKET RIGHT THERE, IS THAT WEFARMER'S MARKE THERE, IS THAT WE HAVE. IF THEY CAN PICK UP THAT SAME DAY. BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE ANY FACILITY HERE AT THE CITY FOR STORAGE OF THOSE ITEMS. THAT'S SOMETHING THAT WE TALKED ABOUT A LITTLE BIT LAST TIME.

NO MATTER WHAT TYPE OF DRIVE WE DO, IT WOULD PROBABLY BE A ONE-TIME DROPOFF. SOMETHING THAT WE WOULD ADVERTISE FOR SURE TO GET PEOPLE TO START COLLECTING ITEMS AND EVERYTHING. BUT IT WOULD PROBABLY BE LIKE A ONE-DAY THING SO THAT WE CAN ENSURE THAT THEY PICK UP

WHEREVER WE HAVE TO BE >> SOMETHING THAT THEY CAN LOOK INTO TO SEE IF THEY CAN BE THERE ON THAT MONDAY BEFORE THE FARMERS MARKET BE IMPORTANT FOR THE BOARD TO DECIDE ARE YOU DOING SOMETHING SPECIFICALLY FOR THANKSGIVING OR ARE YOU DOING SOMETHING THAT IS TO HELP THEIR STORE OUT? BECAUSE THEY DO HAVE THAT

CONSTANT NEED THE AT THE STORE. >> THAT'S A QUESTION TO FIND OUT IF THEY HAVE THAT DISTRIBUTION DATE PRIOR TO THE 20TH.

IF WE ALL AGREE THAT IT'S TO FEED THESE FAMILIES THAT ARE IN NEED, THEN WE CAN ALWAYS HAVE A DROPOFF HERE PRIOR TO THE DISTRIBUTION. THEY DON'T HAVE TO BE AT THE FARMERS MARKET THAT DAY.

>>

>> AREN'T THE SCHOOLS DOING FOOD? THE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, AND MIDDLE SCHOOLS, WHAT IF WE CONCENTRATED ON THE TOILETRIES IF THAT'S WHAT THEY NEED, BECAUSE SCHOOLS REALLY TAKE CARE OF THE NEED FOR THE ACTUAL THANKS GIVING GIVING. I KNOW THAT ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS

COLLECT THE FOOD PORTIONS. >> MAYBE WE DON'T WANT TO TAKE THEIR GLORY. THEY REALLY WORK HARD

>> THEY DO. >> PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION CENTER IS AMAZING, BUT THAT'S A GOOD IDEA WE CAN FOCUS ON THE THINGS THAT ARE

>>

DRIVE AT THANKSGIVING. >>

>> INAUDIBLE ] THE FOOD AND WE CAN

ONE DAY. >> I LIKE THE TOILETRIES.

>> I THINK THAT THEY HAVE A PLACE THERE MAYBE IN THE AUDITORIUM AROUND THEN THAT BETWEEN THE 20TH, AND THE 24TH THEY MAY HAVE HAD EVERYTHING PACKAGED UP AND TO THEM ALREADY SO THAT THEY CAN DELIVER BEFORE THE 24TH. BUT THAT IS A QUESTION THAT WEEK ASK. I KNOW THAT MY KIDS BEING AT WEST GRADES LAST YEAR WERE WORKING WITH MS. MCGUIRE, AND I REMEMBER THEM BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL, AND I REMEMBER THERE BEING SOME CUTOFF DATE FOR THE DISTRIBUTION SO THAT THEY HAD ENOUGH TIME TO HAVE ALL OF THOSE PACKAGES PUT TOGETHER, AND SHIPPED OUT. SO WE MIGHT BE ON THE PRESS I

[00:35:16]

IT WOULD BE ON PRECIPICE. IT WOULD BE THEIR OPENING DAY.

>> THAT I WOULD PROBABLY NEED TO GET SOME INFORMATION TO SEE IF THAT'S SOMETHING THAT WE WOULD BE ABLE TO DO AT THAT FARMERS MARKET , BUT I CAN CERTAINLY ASK.

>> OFFICIAL CORRECTLY, WE HAD ORIGINALLY TALKED ABOUT DOING CLOTHES FOR THOSE THAT WANTED TO -- FOR PEOPLE TRYING TO BE PROFESSIONAL, AND GET JOBS AND THAT KIND OF THING.

SO I'VE BEEN COLLECTING ON CLOTHES AND THEN WHEN I HEARD ABOUT THE HARVEST DRIVE I JUST LOOKED FOR LARGER-SIZED CLOTHES.

AND WHEN I TRIED TO CALL THE GAL THERE, I DIDN'T GET A RESPONSE BACK. SO IS THERE A RIGHT NOW A PLACE THAT YOU CAN DROP OFF OR DO YOU KNOW?

>> I DON'T KNOW. BUT I CAN CERTAINLY GET A HOLD

OF RENE, AND FIND OUT. >> I LEFT A MESSAGE AND I DIDN'T KNOW. I DIDN'T KNOW WHERE WE LEFT OFF

ON THAT. >> IT USED TO BE WESTERN HIGH SCHOOL. IT WAS THE MAIN COLLECTION SITE.

>> IT USED TO BE WESTERN HIGH WAS THE MAIN COLLECTION SITE, BUT I AM NOT SURE AT THIS POINT. IT WOULD DEFINITELY BE A RENE

QUESTION. >> I THINK WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE HAD HER HERE, THEY STARTED TELLING US WHAT THEIR NEEDS WERE, AND THAT WAS THE KIND OF BOTTOM OF THEIR NEED LIST.

THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT AND THEN IT WENT TO KID'S CLOTHING, AND THE SUITS WERE REALLY AT THE BOTTOM OF THE IST OF WHAT THEY NEEDED.

IT KIND OF CUT OFF THAT LITTLE BIT WE THINK MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA THEY ARE ON THE FOREFRONT, THEY

SEE IT. >> SO WHEN SHE CAME AND SPOKE, AND SAID SHE NEEDED LARGER WOMEN'S CLOTHES THAT'S WHAT I WAS FOCUSED ON. SO I JUST DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO GET THEM TO HER. I HAD A WHOLE BUNCH IN MY GARAGE.

>> WILL I WILL DEFINITELY REACH OUT AS WELL, AND CIRCLE BACK WITH YOU ON THAT, AND SEE IF THERE'S SOME PLACE, SIDES

WESTERN HIGH >> I THINK THAT WHENEVER WE DO THAT DAY OF TOILETRIES, OR WHATEVER YOU DECIDE IS THE WAY TO GO, I AM SURE WHEN WE HAVE THAT COLLECTION, AND THEY COME TO PICK UP THAT STUFF. I AM SURE THAT THEY WILL HAVE NO PROBLEM SAYING YOU CAN GIVE ME THOSE CLOTHES AS WELL.

>> I JUST WANT TO ADD ONE MORE THING, SO AT THE TRASH TO TREASURE EVENT THAT THE LIBRARY HOSTED, THEY DON'T HAVE INAUDIBLE ] LIKE THAT JUST VOLUNTEERS. THAT'S IT.

SO FOR THE TRASH TO TREASURES, IT WAS A LITTLE BIT OF A CHALLENGE BECAUSE THE PEOPLE FROM THE HARVEST DRIVE WERE PLANNING ON BRINGING WHAT EVER WAS LEFT OVER FROM TRASH AND TREASURES OVER TO THEIR STORE, AND UNFORTUNATELY CLOTHING, AND JUST RENTING A TRUCK AT THE LAST MINUTE, AND THEN STORING THE MATERIALS, AND ANOTHER 5013 C PICKED IT UP.

AND I DON'T KNOW WHICH ONE IT WAS, IT MAY HAVE BEEN THE NEXT DAY. SO WE HAVE TO REALLY THINK ABOUT HOW WE ARE GOING TO MOVE WHATEVER MATERIALS, GOODS, IN TERMS OF US OR UNLESS, MS. MCGUIRE HAS A WAY, I DON'T KNOW, THE CITY HAS A WAY.

>> MAYBE I CAN TALK TO RENE A LITTLE BIT MORE TOO.

WHEN SHE WAS HERE THE LAST TIME, WHEN I ASKED HER IF THEY HAD AN ABILITY TO PICK UP ITEMS, SHE SAID THAT THEY MIGHT.

THEY MAY HAVE THEIR OWN FLEET OF VOLUNTEERS THAT DO THAT.

SO WE CAN CERTAINLY ASK HER IF THERE'S A WAY TO DO THAT, I THINK AS LONG AS WE PICK WHAT WE ARE DOING, AND WE KIND OF KNOW WHAT DATE THAT WOULD BE, AND WHAT IT IS, AND THEN WE CAN FIND A WAY TO DO THAT, AND START WITH RENE.

>> IT WORKED LAST TIME. IT WAS A TREMENDOUS SUCCESS, AND

IT REALLY HELPED A LOT. >>

>> RENE? >>

[00:40:15]

>>. I KNOW THAT SHED A COLLEAGUE

WITH HER. >> I KNOW THAT THESE ARE JUST SOME SAMPLE FLYERS THAT SHE HAD BROUGHT JUST SO YOU COULD SEE THE TYPES OF THINGS THAT THEY COLLECT.

BUT IF I DON'T GET SOMETHING RIGHT BACK FROM RENE, THEN I WOULD DEFINITELY REACH OUT TO HOLLY.

SO WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK, HOW WOULD YOU LIKE TO MOVE FORWARD

WITH THIS? >> SO ARE WE IN AGREEMENT THAT WE ARE GOING TO GO FORWARD WITH THE TOILETRIES, THE SCHOOLS ARE FOCUSED ON THE SCHOOL ALREADY. I GUESS WE HAVE TO FIGURE OUT THE TIMELINE AS FAR AS WHETHER WE WANT TO HAVE THE DROPOFF THERE OR WE MOVE TO MOVE IT ON THE WHATEVER DAY WE ARE NOT GOING TO DO IT ON THE 20TH, WE ARE WILL HAVE THE FEUD AT THE FARMERS MARKET, AND HERE WE WANTED TO STAY AWAY FROM OPENING DAY AT THE FARMERS MARKET.

>> BE THE I AM NOT SURE WHAT'S GO

>> I THINK THAT ON THE 20TH, WE WILL ALREADY BE THERE

>>YES, YOU WILL ALREADY HAVE A MARKET.

>> I WILL INQUIRE ABOUT EITHER ONE, AND LOGISTICS WISE WHAT THAT MIMIGHTTHAT MIGHT LOOK LIK. .

NEXT MEETING, I WILL REPORT >> THAT CONCLUDE THE OLD

[10. Comments from Staff]

BUSINESS, AND THEN WE CAN MOVE ON WITH THE COMMENTS OF THE STAFF, STARTING WITH THE PARKLAND PAST PROJECT UPDATE.

>> MORE THAN COMMENTS, I ACTUALLY HAVE SOMETHING VISUAL

FOR YOU ALL. >> DROPPED IT OFF.

SO I WILL PASS THIS AROUND TO YOU ALL.

THIS IS A SAMPLE PORTAL. SO OUR FRIENDS AT FAST-SIGNS,

MATT, CREATED THIS FOR US. >> SO HE'S STILL WORKING?

>> THANK YOU VERY MUCH. YOU JUST CAN'T KEEP THAT OUT

INAUDIBLE ]. >> SO THIS PORTAL THAT -- THIS IS THE MATERIAL THAT THE PORTAL WILL BE MADE OUT OF.

THIS IS WEATHER RESISTANT, IT IS GRAFFITI RESISTANT, CAN IT WILL LAST A GOOD AMOUNT OF TIME. OUR COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT MELISSA DID THE DESIGN. SO THIS MAY NOT NECESSARILY THE EXACT PORTAL YOU WILL SEE. BECAUSE AT THE TOP OF THE PART PORTAL, YOU WILL SEE THAT IT STILL HAS THE CITY SEAL.

WE ARE GOING THROUGH OUR REBRANDING EFFORTS.

THESE PORT AS WON'T BE PRODUCED UNTIL WE HAVE OUR BRANDING INITIATIVE OUT THERE. SO THERE BE A NEW CITY LOGO ON

THESE PORTALS. >>ED WORDING IS LIMITED TO 150 TO 200 WORDS SO IT'S NOT TOO BUSY.

JIM JIM, WEISS, DID THE CULLING DOWN OF THE PORTALS TO PUT IT IN A BITE-SIZE FORM.

SO WHEN SOMEBODY APPROACHES ONE OF THESE PORTALS AT THE LOCATION, IT IS SOMETHING THAT DRAWS TO THEIR EYE, IT HAS A SMALL BIT OF INFORMATION, I WANT TO READ ABOUT IT, AND THE QR CODE AT THE BOTTOM IS WHERE THEY CAN GO TO GET A LOT MORE INFORMATION, NOT ONLY ABOUT THIS LOCATION, BUT ALL OF OUR OTHER LOCATIONS. SO WE ARE REALLY HAPPY WITH IT.

ACTUALLY, IF YOU SHOW THEM THE BACK, THIS IS THE MATERIAL THAT THE POST WILL BE MADE OUT OF. IT WILL BE A TWO BY TWO SQUARE POST, BRITTANY WILL PASS THIS ALONG TOO.

IT'S MADE OUT OF THIS ALUMINUM MATERIAL.

YOU WILL SEE THE THICKNESS OF IT, EVEN THOUGH IT WILL AND DIFFERENT SHAPE. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT WITHSTAND SOME GOOD WINDS. THIS ISN'T JUST GOING TO FALL DOWN. SO IT'S SOMETHING THAT'S STURDY AND GOING TO BE LONGLASTING HERE IN THE COMMUNITY.

WE ARE REALLY HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS.

WE WILL BE WORKING WITH THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY TO HAVE THEM

[00:45:01]

TAKE A LOOK AT ALL WEALTH OF THE PORTALS THAT WE CURRENTLY HAVE, AND CULDOWN THAT INFORMATION TO A GOOD SIZE BIT FOR EACH OF THEM, AND WE ARE ADDING THAT 13TH PORTAL OUT FRONT WHERE THE TIME CAPSULE THEM, AND WE ARE A 13TH PORTAL OUT FRONT WHERE THE TIME CAPSULE IS, AND THE NEW BRANDING WILL BE HELPFUL IN GETTING IT OUT WITH THE NEW PORTAL.

WE ARE EXCITED ABOUT THAT, AND WE JUST WANTED TO SHOW THAT TO

YOU, AND I WILL PASS IT AROUND. >> WILL WE BE ABLE TO DISPLAY THESE AT THE FARMERS MARKET, IN SOME FORM OR FASHION

>> WE ARE HOPING FOR NOVEMBER. I DON'T KNOW IF IT WOULD BE READY FOR THE FIRST FARMERS MARKET.

BUT WE ARE DEFINITELY GOING TO BE GETTING THE WORD OUT THERE, ONCE THE PORTALS ARE CREATED AND PUT OUT THERE, BECAUSE WE ARE ENCOURAGING PEOPLE ESPECIALLIATION THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY GOES AROUND THAT THEY GO AROUND AND VISIT ALL OF THE PORTALS, AND SEE THE RESULTS OF THAT WORK, AND EDUCATE THEMSELVES MORE ABOUT THE HISTORY.

SO THEY ARE PREPARED FOR IT. >> THE DESIGN WITH THE WAVE,

THAT IS THE DESIGN. >> IT MAYOR NOT BE.

THAT'S A GOOD REPRESENTATION. BUT IF A BRANDING INITIATIVE COMES BACK THAT THE WAVES DON'T WORK OR THE GREEN WON'T WORK.

I HIGHLY DOUBT THAT GREEN WON'T BE INVOLVED IN PARKLAND.

BUT WE MAY MOVE THAT AROUND A LITTLE BIT.

IN OUR IN-HOUSE DESIGNER, CAME UP WITH THAT.

>> I THINK THAT IT LOOKS LIKE A BASEBALL TOO.

SO IT'S REALLY EYECATCHING. >> I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT THE LONGEVITY, MY PARENTS HAVE BEEN STAYING WITH ME FOR THE LAST SIX MONTHS, AND WE HAVE BEEN EXPLORING PARKLAND, AND WE WENT OVER TO THE DORIS DAY PARK, AND PRESERVE.

I NOTICE THAT THEY WERE REALLY FADED, AND IT'S SUCH A REALLY NICE LITTLE WALK THERE THAT BOARDWALK, AND I WONDERED HOW VERY BEEN, HOW LONG IT'S BEEN THAT LONGEVITY PERIOD, AND SO THAT IT LOOKS GOOD FOR A LONG TIME?

>>. >> I DON'T KNOW IF YOU REMEMBER WHEN THOSE PORTALS WERE PUT IN. I KNOW THAT THESE HERE I BELIEVE HE SAID WOULD LAST AT LEAST TEN YEARS.

BUT THIS IS A LAMB INATION PROCESS, WHEREAS THE.

>> DO YOU RECALL HIM SAYING WHEN THOSE WERE PUT IN?

>> I AM NOT SURE WHEN THOSE WERE PUT IN.

THAT'S WHERE WE ARE TRYING TO MAKING IS A LOT MORE DURABLE.

>> AFTER GOING TO THAT PARK, I THOUGHT OUR PROJECT HERE, AND I WAS LIKE HOPE THAT THEY ARE MAKING IT LAST A LITTLE BIT LONGER. IT'S SUCH A NIGHT PARK, AND IT TAKES A LITTLE BIT AWAY BECAUSE OVER TIME, THEY ARE SO

DETERIORATED. >> WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO HAVING SOMETHING THAT WILL LAST A LONG TIME THAT PEOPLE WILL ENJOY. THANK YOU IS HE MUCH FOR

EVERYTHING. >> I JUST WANT TO THANK EVERYBODY FOR BEING HERE. AND OUR NEXT MEETING WILL BE HELD SEPTEMBER 13TH. AND OUR REGULAR TIME IS 6:00 P.M., AND IT'S, CAN GET A MOTION TO ADJOURN.

>> YES. >> SECOND

>> ANYONE OPPOSED? WE ARE NOW
