COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC. WANT TO SPEAK. TWO PEOPLE WHO - ASHLEY, WOULD YOU LIKE TO SAY A FEW WORDS? THIS WILL BE THE MAYOR'S LAST MEETING AS MAYOR IN A MONTH.SO IT WAS GREAT HAVING YOU. >> THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR GIVING ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE THE MAYOR FOR A MONTH AND TO EXPLORE WHAT THE GOVERNMENT IS LIKE.
>> AND DOUG WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK. GOOD EVENING.
MAYOR, CITY COMMISSION. CITY STAFF.
THANK YOU FOR ALLOWING ME A FEW MOMENTS.
WITH MY 90 SECONDS AT THE MIC HERE I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT A FEW THINGS RELATED TO THE CHAMBER.
NUMBER ONE, ONE OF THE THINGS WE'VE BEEN WORKING ON IS GROWTH FOR THE CHAMBER. WE FEEL THAT WHAT IS GOOD FOR THE CHAMBER AND BUSINESS IS GREAT FOR THE CITY AND RIGHT NOW THE CHAMBER WE'RE AT 145 MEMBERS OF 523 BUSINESSES IN THE CITY.
WE'RE UP ABOUT 18% YEAR TO DATE. AS I SAID AT A BREAKFAST, NO PLAN B. ITEM PLAN FOR US IS WE WILL DOUBLE IN SIZE FOR ABOUT -- BY 2023.
WE THINK THERE'S JUST NOTHING BUT UPSIDE THERE.
THERE'S 41 TRUSTEES. ALSO, WITH RESPECT TO GROWTH, WE HAVE STARTED A NEW GROUP CALLED THE PROFESSIONAL WOMENS LEADERSHIP GROUP. CHRISTINE, LISA, ANDREA WILL CHAIR THAT. I THINK THAT'S PROBABLY GOING TO BE THE MOST EXCITING THING THAT WE DO THIS YEAR.
IT'S GOING TO PROMOTE A LOT OF GROWTH AND BUSINESS LEADERS, WOMEN BUSINESS LEADERS, OWNERS. SO THAT'S GETTING OFF THE GROUND NEXT MONTH. SPEAKING OF SOME GROWTH WE HAVE SOME EXCITING NEW PARTNERSHIPS. NUMBER ONE, AND SOMETHING I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT, IS WE'RE PARTNERING WITH THE CITY AND SOME THINGS TOGETHER NOT THE LEAST OF WHICH IS BUSINESS EXPO.
WE'RE GOING TO WORK ON THE FARMERS MARKET AND START WORKSHOPING SOME OTHER IDEAS NEXT MONTH AND THAT'S VERY EXCITING AND THANK YOU, NANCY, AND JACKIE AND RICH AND EVERYBODY ELSE WHO CHAMPIONED THIS.
IT WILL BE A LOT OF FUN. WE'VE ALSO GOT BRAND NEW PARTNERSHIP THAT WE JUST FORMALIZE WITH BROWARD HEALTH WHICH IS EXCITING AND ALSO NORTHWESTERN MUTUAL WHICH IS ONE OF THE LARGEST LIFE INSURERS IN THE UNITED STATES.
AND SO A COUPLE OF EVENTS COMING UP THAT ENCOURAGE ANYONE WHO IS NOT YET ENGAGED WITH THE CHAMBER OR ARE NOT A MEMBER IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO COME OUT, GET PLUGGED IN THIS WAY.
NUMBER ONE, ON THE 29TH, WE HAVE A TRUSTEE LUNCHEON AT THE CYPRESS HEAD CLUBHOUSE AT 12:00 P.M.
[00:05:28]

AT MY FLORIDA HOUSE.GOV. >> ANYONE ELSE? EH STEREOING NONE WE'LL START WITH COMMISSION AND MAYOR COMMENTS. TONIGHT I'M GOING TO GO FIRST.
CHANGE IT UP A LITTLE BIT. I'M GOING TO HIT ON MOST OF WHAT YOU GUYS WILL GET A TASTE OF WHAT IT'S LIKE TO GO LAST.
VOLUNTEERS COME OUT AND WHEN THE KIDS COME OUT, THEY CAN FIND A BUNCH OF EASTER EGGS AND BUNNY PRINTS ON THE SIDEWALKS AND STUFF SO THE WONDERFUL CAUSE AND EVENT.
IT'S GREAT TO SEE EVERY YEAR TO TURN OUT IS BIGGER AND BETTER SO IT'S GREAT TO SEE THAT. IT'S ONE OF OUR FAVORITE EVENTS.
PARKLAND CARES DOES A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF WORK AND GOOD THINGS FOR OUR COMMUNITY. THEY HAD A GOLF EVENT ON MONDAY AT THE GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB. I WON'T BRAG THAT I DID TAKE
SECOND PLACE IN THAT SO -- >> YOUR TEAM.
>> GOOD POINT. IT WAS I LOT OF FUN TO PLAY WITH THEM. THE EVENT WAS FANTASTIC.
THEY RAISE A LOT OF MONEY. THEY DO A LOT OF WORK.
IT'S A FANTASTIC EVENT AND THANK YOU TO STACY AND CHRISTINE FOR PUTTING THAT ON AND EVERYBODY ELSE WHO VOLUNTEERS WITH THEM.
LAST MEETING I FORGOT TO CONGRATULATE THE COMMISSIONER ON YOUR HOME RULE HERO A WARD. WELL DESERVED.
YOU GO A LOT OF WORK IN THE CITY WHICH PEOPLE NEED TO UNDERSTAND BUT WHAT YOU DO IS YOU DO A LOT OF WORK OUTSIDE OF THE CITY FOR THE CITY WHICH IS EVEN MORE VALUABLE WHICH I THINK SOMETIMES PEOPLE FORGET ABOUT BUT WE CERTAINLY DO NOT FORGET ABOUT THAT AND WE CERTAINLY DO APPRECIATE IT AND THE FLORIDA LEAGUE. THE CITY'S APPRECIATION AND THE BROWARD LEAGUES BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY EARNING THAT IS
[00:10:03]
SOMETHING SPECIAL. RELAY FOR LIFE IS ALWAYS A FANTASTIC EVENT. THEY ALSO RAISE A LOT OF MONEY FOR CANCER. IT'S NICE TO SEAT AT MSD SO THANK YOU FOR WORKING WITH THEM TONE SURE THAT HAPPENED.CAREER DAY WAS A LOT OF FUN. I ALWAYS ENJOY TALKING TO THE KIDS. I TELL EVERYONE I USED TO TALK -- I LOVE MY BUSINESS, YOU KNOW -- CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT WHAT IT'S LIKE BEING MAYOR AND WHAT DO YOU DO? I FOCUS ON WHAT WE DO WITH THE CITY AND IT WAS GREAT BECAUSE WE JUST HAD STRATEGIC PLANNING SO I GOT TO TALK TO THEM.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE EAGLE REGIMENT COLOR GUARD.
THEY WENT TO OHIO. THEY WERE IN THE FINALS.
IT'S GREAT. IT'S A WANDSERFUL PROGRAM.
THEY PRACTICE LONGER AND HARDER. IT'S ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC.
WE HAD -- YES, IT'S ACTUALLY HERE.
AND THEY JUST NOTIFIED THEY'LL BE MARCHING IN THE MACYS DAY PARADE IN 2023. KIND OF SAYING HOW RELIEVED SHE IS PEOPLE ARE STARTING TO UNDERSTAND AND THE STIGMA IS GETTING REMOVED. YOU KNOW.
FOR AUTISM. THE RUN FOR BEAGLE EVENT WAS FANTASTIC. WE DID NOT GET TO RUN.
I GOT TO BE THERE. I WALKED BRIEFLY BUT WE HAD STRATEGIC PLANNING. THAT MORNING.
DOUG, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. THE EVENT IS FANTASTIC.
THE TURNOUT WAS AMAZING. THE IDEA WAS FANTASTIC BECAUSE
[00:15:03]
THESE ARE KIDS WHO CAN'T GO TO THESE CAMPS AND THOSE ARE MEMORIES THAT THEY'LL HAVE FOREVER.WHEN YOU DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT EVEN GOING TO A BASEBALL GAME IS GREAT OR SOMETHING SOMEWHERE IS AWESOME BUT WHEN YOU HAVE AND YOU'RE SPENDING A WEEK OR HOWEVER LONG IT IS I KNOW IT'S LONG, TWO WEEKS, SO THAT IS SOMETHING THAT ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY WILL REMEMBER, THEY'LL LEARN FROM THAT.
I JUST LOVE THE IDEA OF WHAT IT IS THAT THEY DO.
IT'S REALLY A FANTASTIC EVENT AND THANK YOU FOR THAT.
ASHLEY, IT WAS A PLEASURE HAVING RE AS MAYOR.
THANK YOU FOR BEING MAYOR AND LAST BUT 23409 LEAST, I WANT
TO -- >> THERE'S A SEMIFINAL GAME AT 9:00 THE OTHER GAME AT 10:00 AND THE CHAMPIONSHIP IS AT 11:00.
SO IT'S GOING TO BE A LOT OF FUN AT PINE TRAILS PARK, A COHEAD ADULT SOFTBALL LEAGUE. WITH THAT, GOOD LUCK TO YOU GUYS, WHOEVER IS GOING TO GO LAST, YOU'LL UNDERSTAND WHAT IT'S LIKE. I WANT TO SAY I LOVE WORKING WITH YOU GUYS. I THINK IT'S FANTASTIC, THE OPPORTUNITY THAT WE HAVE. US TOGETHER WITH STAFF, KIND OF TALK ABOUT DIFFERENT THINGS. BRAINSTORM.
YOU KNOW, SOMEBODY STARTS SOMETHING OFF AND SOMEBODY BRINGS SOMETHING ELSE AND IT'S A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR US TO JUST KICK IDEAS AROUND AND TALK ABOUT WHAT WE HEAR FROM THE CITY AND THEN AS IT PROGRESSES STARTS TO NARROW DOWN TO OUR BUDGET.
SO THIS IS A BRAINSTORMING SESSION.
I APPRECIATE THAT WE'RE JUST COMFORTABLE AND SITTING THERE TWO FULL DAYS TALKING ABOUT THE CITY OF PARKLAND AND AS WE GET CLOSER WE START TO REALLY VISUALIZE AND GET TO SEE WHAT IS REALLY GOING TO BE HAPPENING OVER THE NEXT YEAR AND THREE AND FIVE YEARS. LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT PROFESSION AS WE MOVE TOWARDS THE FINAL BUDGET PROCESS.
WITH THAT, I'LL LET COMMISSIONER ISRAEL.
HAPPY PASS OVERAND EASTER TO EVERYONE.
I AGREE THAT THE AUTISM AWARENESS DAY WAS AN INCREDIBLE EVENT AND I HOPE WE CAN BECOME A MODEL TO OTHER CITIES IN WHAT WE'RE DOING AND KIND OF LEADING THE CHARGE ON THAT.
DOUG, OUTSTANDING EVENT. YOU SHARED WITH ME ABOUT $56,000 RAISED WHICH IS INCREDIBLE IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT.
IT ALL GOES TO THE FUND EVEN MORE SO.
WE HAVE CHALLENGES AS WELL SO I'M CONFIDENT IN THAT.
THE EASTER EGG HUNT, ONE OF MY FAVORITE THINGS ALSO.
I GUESS I SHOULD SAY MY KIDS FAVORITE THINGS.
PARKLAND CARES TOURNAMENT WAS FANTASTIC AND UNFORTUNATELY I COULD NOT GOLF BUT THE DINNER AFTER WAS NICE.
MSDE EAGLE REGIMENT. I THINK THAT'S A GREAT ACHIEVEMENT. WHO GETS TO DO THAT? VERY COOL. I'LL TRY NOT TO BE I GUESS
[00:20:17]
REDUNDANT. FIRST OF ALL I WANT TO REMIND EVERYBODY THAT TODAY IS 13 YEARS SINCE COLUMBINE.I KNOW WE'VE HAD OUR OWN TRAGEDY HERE BUT 23 YEARS IS A LONG TIME. JUST TAKE TIME TO REFLECT ON THE LOSSES THAT WE HAD OBVIOUSLY AS WELL AS WITH ONES WE'VE HAD HERE. THE CITY IS NOT DOING BUSINESS WITH RUSSIA AND WITH RUSSIAN-RELATED ENTITIES AND INDIVIDUALS. SO THAT'S SOMETHING THAT WE'RE
>> OKAY. SO WE CAN PUT THAT ON FOR OUR NEXT MEETING.
>> THERE YOU GO. YESTERDAY I WE WANT DOWN TO BROWARD COUNTY SCHOOLS. THEY APPROVED THEIR REFERENDUM TO PLACE ON THE BALLOT AUGUST 13TH BALLOT WHAT THEY'RE DOING IS CURRENTLY WE HAVE HALF A MILL.
THE SCHOOL DISTRICT HAS HALF A MILL WHICH SUNSETS IN JULY OF 2023 AND THEY'RE LOOKING TO INCREASE THAT AS A MILL.
>> YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT THE MILLAGE RATE.
>> CORRECT. JUST WANTED TO CLEAR THAT UP.
>> BASED ON PROPERTY VALUE. CAREER DAY, YOU NAILED IT.
KIDS ARE GREAT. PARKLAND BAFTH BALL JUST WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIPS THAT WERE GIVEN OUT FOR JOAQUIN OLDIER. IT WAS JUST A VERY SOMBER BUT POSITIVE EVENT. I HAVE TO COMMEND AND CALL OUT -- THEY CAME BACK FROM -- WITH, LIKE, MAYBE AN HOUR SLEEP
[00:25:03]
AND THEY CAME TO THE MEETING ALL WELL DRESSED UP, PREPARED, READY TO HANDLE IT. THERE ARE TWO MEMBERS IN THE AUDIENCE TONIGHT THAT APPLIED FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP.YOU WERE ALL IN MY TOP FOUR. SO WE ONLY GIVE OUT FOUR SCHOLARSHIPS SO I HAVE TO SAY THAT FOR THE RECORD.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE OTHER PEOPLE IN THAT COMMITTEE WERE THINKING BUT I HAVE TO SAY THAT. SO, CONGRATULATIONS TO BOTH OF YOU FOR PUTTING YOURSELF OUT THERE, DOING THE JOB, AND COMING AND FILLING OUT A SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION.
SCOTT WAS BOTH A TEACHER AND COACH OF THE TRACK TEAM KILLED IN 2018 SO I ECHO ALL THE COMMENTS THAT WERE MADE PROVIDING THIS LITTLE BIT OF ESCAPE TO KIDS WHO PROBABLY NEED AN ESCAPE MORE THAN ANYTHING IN THEIR LIVES.
IT'S CERTAINLY A BLESSING SO WE THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK. WITH REGARD TO ALL THE EVENTS, I DON'T WANT TO REHASH THE SAME THINGS BUT I WANT TO SAY ONE THING IN PARTICULAR. THERE ARE A MAIDSING EVENTS.
ALL OF OUR CITY EVENTS AND ORGANIZATION-RELATED EVENTS LIKE RUN FOR BEAGLE AND OTHERS ARE JUST AMAZING EVENTS.
THERE WERE TWO THAT JUST WERE SO POWERFUL RECENTLY.
THE RELAY FOR LIFE AND THE TURNOUT FROM OUR CITY ESPECIALLY. OUR COMMISSION.
SOME MEMBERS OF THE LARGER ELECTED BODY. OUR MAYOR AND STATE REPRESENTATIVE. OUR COMMISSIONER.
WE'RE ALL OUT IN FULL FORCE ALONG WITH OTHER FOLKS FROM COCONUT CREEK. THERE ARE PEOPLE BEYOND THEIR IMMEDIATE FAMILY AND FRIEND GROUP THERE TO PICK THEM UP OR WALK WITH THEM THROUGH THAT JOURNEY.
I AM ONE OF THEM. IT CREATES A SENSE OF COMMUNITY AND RIVALS ANY OTHER IN THE COUNTRY AND I'M PROUD TO BE PART OF IT. THAT GOES TO THE STRATEGIC PLANNING AND THE MAYOR MADE SOME GREAT COMMENTS ABOUT IT.
WHAT WE LEARN FOR ALL THE RESIDENTS THAT WERE THERE AND WE TALKED TO IS THAT YOU HAVE FIVE MEMBERS OF THIS DAIS, NUMBER OF RESIDENTS, BUT A WHOLE BODY OF CITY STAFF.
[00:31:39]
>> THANK YOU, MAYOR. SO I CAN'T SAY IT BETTER THAN THEY DID SO I WON'T BUT I WILL SAY THERE'S A COUPLE OF EVENTS UPCOMING THAT WE CAN ALSO BE AWARE OF.
THERE'S THE GRAND UNVEILING AT THE GARDENS THAT WILL BE A GREAT EVENT. WE'LL BE HONORING THE CITY OF PARKLAND SO LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT AND I ALSO WANT TO COMMEND THE BSO OFFICERS THAT WILL BE ATTENDING THE BSO PROMOTION CEREMONY AT THE FAITH CENTER IN SUNRISE ON APRIL 28TH AS WELL.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO WORKED SO HARD TO KEEP US ALL SAFE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.
THOSE ARE OUR COMMENTS. >> YOU'VE PROVED MY POINT THEN.
>> I WANT TO JUST ADD ONE THING IF I MAY, MAYOR.
I FORGOT TO MENTION -- MAY 5TH, MAKE OUR SCHOOL SAFE IS HAVING THEIR ANNUAL FUND RAISER. I WANTED TO REITERATE THAT.
[6. Proclamations and Recognitions]
>> HOW Y'ALL DOING SNIPPETY I'M THE CHAIR OF THE CITY OF PARKLAND'S COMMUNITY ADVISORY BOARD.
KENDRA IS WITH ME NOW. PRIOR TO THE COMMUNITY ADVISORY BOARD, I WAS ALSO ON THE EDUCATION ADVISORY BOARD.
[00:35:56]
TO SEE THE TALENT WE HAVE IN THIS CITY IS AMAZING.IT IS. TONIGHT WE HAVE THREE RECIPIENTS THAT WE HAVE HERE AND LET ME READ SOMETHING.
ANNUALLY THE CITY OF PARKLAND OFFERS SCHOLARSHIPS TO ONE OR MORE PARKLAND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS MONTH IN ADDITION TO MEETING REQUIREMENTS HAVE SNOB STRAITED EXCEPTIONAL COMMITMENT
TO COMMUNITY SERVICE. >> I NEED TO LET Y'ALL KNOW IT IS A REALLY HARD JOB TO READ THOSE APPLICATIONS AND DECIDE WE HAVE SOME WONDERFUL YOUTH IN THIS AREA AND I AM SO IMPRESSED.
LAST YEAR I GOT TO INTERVIEW THEM.
THIS YEAR I WAS ABLE TO READ THROUGH AND I PRINTED OUT ALL OF THEM. I DIDN'T WANT TO MISS A THING SO I PRINTED OUT AND HAVE A STACK ABOUT THIS HIGH BUT IT'S A REALLY DIFFICULT DECISION. I'VE ONLY SEEN THE APPLICATION.
[00:42:13]
PRETTY IMPRESSIVE.THE AMOUNT OF WORK THIS MAN PUTS INTO THIS EVERY YEAR IS UNBELIEVABLE. I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR COMMITMENT. CONGRATULATIONS TO THE SCHOLARSHIP A WARD MEMBERS AND THANK YOU TO THE COMMUNITY
[7. Approval of the Agenda]
ADVISORY BOARD FOR THEIR HARD WORK IN EVALUATING THOSE APPLICATIONS. NOW WE'LL GO TO THE APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA.>> AYE. >> PASSES UNANIMOUSLY.
[9. Regular Agenda]
ANTHONY, TAKE IT AWAY. VACATING AND ABANDONING DEDICATED DRAINAGE EASEMENT SECOND READING.THIS IS A SECOND READING OBVIOUSLY.
>> ANYONE WISH TO SPEAK ON THIS FROM THE PUBLIC? SEEING THAT THERE'S NONE, WE HAVE A MOTION TO A -- TO APPROVE
[00:45:06]
AND A SECOND.>> PASTS UNANIMOUSLY. >> RESOLUTION 2022-018.
GRANT AGREEMENT BETWEEN FLORIDA COMMUNITIES TRUST AND THE CITY OF PARKLAND. RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF PARKLAND FLORIDA APPROVING THE GRANT AGREEMENT FOR FLORIDA FOREVER GRANT FUNDING.
ANYONE FROM THE PUBLIC WHO WISHES TO SPEAK?
>> SO I JUST -- A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS.
I KNOW WE PURCHASED THE 24 ACRES.
BUT THE 36 IS ALL PART OF THIS. SO IF THE REVERTER CLAUSES LET'S SAY 75 YEARS FROM NOW, THE WAY THE AGREEMENT SET STRUCTURED, THE DEED RESTRICTION IS THE ENTIRE 36 ACRES AND IF THE CITY VIOLATED THE CONDITIONS OF THAT RESTRICTIVE COVENANT THAN THE REVERSION COULD POTENTIALLY COME INTO PLAY
>> I THOUGHT THE GRANT WAS TO GO TOWARDS ACQUISITION.
>> HAVE THEY EVER? >> THE GRANT MANAGER SAID IT'S EXTREMELY RARE. THEY'VE HAD 628 GRANTS THEY'VE GIVEN THROUGHOUT THE PROGRAM AND IT'S EXTREMELY RARE AND AS WE'VE SEEN THEY WORK WITH YOU. THIS IS THE IF THEY WERE IN THE BUSINESS OF REAL ESTATE, IF EXERCISING THE DEEDS.
NO ONE WOULD EVER APPLY FOR A GRANT.
[00:50:12]
I UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU'RE SAYING AND STILL AS AN ATTORNEY I HAVE SOME -- ABOUT THIS IDEA OF THE REVERTER CLAUSE THAT GIVES BACK THE ENTIRETY OF THE PROPERTY BUT IT IS OUR INTENTION AS A COMMISSION TODAY AND FOREVER AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED TO CONTINUE TO MAINTAIN THAT AREA AS AN OPEN SPACE PARK IN ACCORDANCE WITH WHATEVER THE RULES AND REGULATIONS ARE OF THE GRANT AND WHATEVER BEST FITS OUR CITY ONCE WE GO INTO THE PLANNING PROCESS OF THIS. BUT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE US MAKE SURE WE TIGHTEN THAT UP A LITTLE BIT.I LOOK TEA IT NOT TODAY, TOMORROW, I'M LOOKING 75 YEARS FROM NOW. WHO KNOWS WHAT GOES ON.
I DON'T KNOW IF I'LL BE HERE. MAYBE.
BUT THE POINT BEING IS THAT I TO HAVE SOME CONCERNS.
>> COMMISSIONER. >> I SHARED THOSE CONCERNS BUT THE MORE I THINK ABOUT IT AND LOOKING AT THAT PROPERTY, IT'S SURROUNDED BY RESIDENTIAL. THERE'S KIND OF A HARD ENVISIONED COMMERCIAL THERE AND IT'S HARD TO ENVISION ANYTHING OTHER THAN A PARK. AT THE END OF THE DAY THERE'S ONLY A FINITE AMOUNT OF SPACE OR AREA IN THIS CITY AND WHETHER SOMETHING 75 YEARS FROM NOW HAPPENS AND THEY WANT TO CHANGE IT, I WOULD IMAGINE THE SWAP IS PROBABLY GOING TO BE INEVITABLE BECAUSE IF YOU TAKE AWAY ONE THING YOU HAVE TO PUT IT
SOMEWHERE ELSE. >> BASED ON THE SAMPLES PROVIDED TO US THAT LANGUAGE IS NOT IN THERE BUT IF THAT'S SOMETHING THE CITY WOULD CONSIDER AND YOU APPROACH THE TRUST WITH, YOU WORK IT OUT FIRST AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THINGS IN WRITING AND
EVERYBODY IS ON BOARD. >> AND YOU HAVE TO FILE YEARLY
>> FOR -- >> FOR QUITE A WHILE.
>> RIGHT. >> SO US FORGETTING OR SOMEBODY NOT NOTICING IT'S NOT THERE BECAUSE WE HAVE TO HAVE THIS IN FRONT OF US YEAR AFTER YEAR AFTER YEAR.
AND I APPRECIATE MAYOR YOUR COMMENTS ABOUT THE LIKELYHOOD OF THEM WANTING THIS. BUT IT'S THE SENSE THAT ALL LAWYERS GET BUT WHEN YOU'RE DEALING WITH LAND WHICH TODAY COULD BE WORTH X BUT TOMORROW A MILLION OR THOUSAND TIMES X THAT'S WHERE YOU GET THE CONCERNS OVER THE POTENTIAL THAT
[00:55:04]
MAY NEVER COME. IT WAS DEFINITELY GOING TO AFFECT THE CITY AND WE JUMPED ON IT TO PURCHASE IT, BOUGHT THE LAND, BROUGHT IT INTO THE CITY BECAUSE IT WAS CURRENTLY NOT ANNEXED INTO THE CITY SO THIS WHOLE PROCESS REALLY KUDOS TO EVERYBODY WHO WAS UP ON THIS DAIS AT THAT TIME AND UNTIL NOW ABOUT HOW THIS COMES TO FRUITION AND AS A MODEL OF HOW WE GET SHOULD BE ADDRESSED. SOMETHING ->> SECOND. >> SO I HAVE A MOTION TO APPROVE BY COMMISSIONER ISRAEL AND A SECOND.
[10. Comments by the Broward Sheriff's Office]
PASSES UNANIMOUSLY. >> COMMENTS BY THE BROWARD SHERIFF'S OFFICE.
SINCE WE WERE LAST YEAR WE HAD FOUR VEHICLES STOLEN.
WE HAVE ALL BUT SOLVED ALL OF THEM SO IF THEY'RE NOT IN CUSTODY, WE KNOW WHO HAS THEM. GREAT WORK FROM OUR BURGLARLY TEAM. WE CAN'T PREVENT CRIME BUT WE CAN SOLVE IT. THE SCARY PART IS SOME OF THEM ARE AS YOUNG AS 13 YEARS OLD. THOSE ARE FROM THIS AREA.
I WANT TO CONGRATULATE YOUR OPTIMISM.
OTHER THAN THAT, WE'RE FOOD. ANY QUESTION A EASY?
COMMENTS BY THE -- THAT WAS A GOOD ONE.
[11. Comments by the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department]
COMMENTS BY THE CORAL SPRINGS PARKLAND FIRE DEPARTMENT.TIMING IS IMPECCABLE. I APOLOGIZE.
