I KNOW YOU GUYS HAVE A LOT TO DO WITH THAT. I APPRECIATE IT.

>> LAURIE PLAT ANYTHING. >> PRESENT

[4. Approval of Minutes ]

[INAUDIBLE] [INAUDIBLE]. >> I HAVE A MOTION TO APPROVE FROM SHARRY AND A SECOND FROM JEFF. ALL IN FAVOR SIGNIFY BY SAYING AYE.

[VOTE] >> PLEASE SHOW IT PASSED UNANIMOUSLY.

SORRY ABOUT THAT. OKAY. NEXT ON THE AGENDA ARE COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON ANY NONAGENDA ITEMS. ANYONE FROM THE PUBLIC? WE JUST HAVE THE COMMISSIONER HERE. ANYWAY I'M CLOSING TO THE PUBLIC AND OPENING TO THE BOARD. I HAVE SOME COMMENTS FROM THE CHAIR.

[6. Comments by the Chair ]

THERE'S A FEW THINGS I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT. ONE THING I'M HAPPY TO HEAR ABOUT IS THAT FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND MAYBE YOU KNOW ABOUT THIS MORE THAN I DO BUT I HEARD THE -- GOLF CLUB WILL SOON HAVE A NEW OWNER NORTH SPRINGS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT.

I GUESS THEY AND CLUB LINK HAVE REACHED AN AGREEMENT BASICALLY WHAT THEY'RE GOING TO DO IS UTILIZE THE 158 ACRES FOR STORM WATER RETENTION INCLUDING GIANT STORM DRAINS TO PROTECT THE CITY FROM FLOODING, RECREATIONAL WALK TRAILS AND GREEN SPACES AND THEN THEY'RE GOING TO HAVE 70 ACRES OF PARCEL USED FOR COMMERCIAL COMMUNITY MEANT. THEY'RE HOPING TO GET THAT MIESNER PARK FIELD WHICH IS GREAT FOR THE OPPORTUNITY OF HERON BAY BECAUSE I HAVE SEVERAL FRIENDS THAT LIVE OUT THERE AND I KNOW ONE OF THE BIGGEST CONCERNS THAT THEY WERE HAVING IS WHETHER THEY WERE GOING TO HAVE HOUSES AND CONDOS AND EVERYTHING ELSE GOING UP IN THEIR BACKYARD BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE THAT'S A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR THEM TO USE THAT LAND FOR OTHER REASONS, AND I'M HAPPY ABOUT THAT. I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT EXCEPT NEL STUDENTS IN OUR CITY. MARJORY STONEMAN DOUGLAS. THEY HAVE SIX SENIORS NAMED NATIONAL MERIT FINALISTS WHICH IS A VERY PRESTIGIOUS TITLE HELD BY THE HIGH ACHIEVERS AND THE NAME OF THOSE STUDENTS ARE: THOSE INDIVIDUALS HAD SOME OF THE HIGHEST PSA SCORES IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY THIS YEAR. AMAZING. EVERY NATIONAL MERIT FINALIST RECEIVES $2500 FOR SINGLE PAYMENT SCHOLARSHIP AND I JUST WANTED TO CONGRATULATE THOSE YOUNG ADULTS AND I WANT TO CONGRATULATE THE PRINCIPAL, MICHELLE, ONE OF THE '21 NATIONAL PRINCIPAL OF THE YEAR FINALISTS. ALSO WANT TO CONGRATULATE HER STUDENTS WHO HAVE SOME OF THE GREATEST SPORTS VICTORIES LATELY FROM BASEBALL TO SOCCER TO VOLLEYBALL. FINALLY IT WAS GREAT SEEING A LOT OF THE PEOPLE THAT CAME OUT TO SUPPORT THE BUSINESSES AT THE FARMERS MARKET THE LAST COUPLE OF TIMES.

IT'S BEEN AMAZING. IT'S LIKE A HOME COMING. EVERY TIME YOU GO OUSTER THERE YOU RUN INTO FAMILIES AND FRIENDS AND EVERYBODY AND I WISH MORE PEOPLE WOULD TAKE PART IN IT BUT I SEE MORE AND MORE PEOPLE ARE AND IT'S AMAZING. IT'S LOCATED AT THE EQUESTRAIAN

[00:05:21]

CENTER. APRIL 11 IS THE NEXT ONE. THE TEAM, ENVIRONMENTAL EXPO AND CRAFT FAIR. THE NEXT ONE, A GREAT ONE, ON APRIL 25 AND THAT WILL BE THE BUSINESS EXPO SO WE'VE GOT GREAT THINGS HAPPENING IN OUR CITY BUT ANY COMMENTS FROM THE BOARD.

WANT TO START OVER ON THIS END RUPERT? >> YES.

I CAN FOLLOW UP ABOUT OUR NATIONAL [INAUDIBLE] UNIVERSITY [INAUDIBLE] DEPENDS ON THE NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARS. I KNOW WHERE I WORK AND TEACH WE'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARS [INAUDIBLE] THESE STUDENTS. SECONDLY, LAST YEAR WE HAD A COUPLE OF MEETINGS WHERE WE TALKED ABOUT RECYCLING AND I NOTICED THAT IN THE A, YOU HAVE TO WALK A LONG DISTANCE TO FIND A RECYCLING CONTAINER. I'M BRINGING THIS ATTENTION TO THE BOARD AND CITY OF PARKLAND TO SEE IF THERE'S SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF UNITS IN THE PARK.

VERY SMALL NUMBER [INAUDIBLE] ESPECIALLY WHEN WE'RE PLAYING BASKETBALL AND FOOTBALL.

YOU HAVE TO ACTUALLY LOOK FOR ONE. [INAUDIBLE].

>> YOU ARE RIGHT. I KNOW SOME CITIES ARE ACTUALLY DOING AWAY COMPLETELY WITH THEIR WHOLE RECYCLING PROGRAM. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE CITY OF PARKLAND, IF THEY'LL CONTINUE WITH THE RECYCLING OR NOT BUT I KNOW THAT THAT IS DEFINITELY AN ISSUE OVER THERE, THE PARK.

>> RIGHT. BUT IN TERMS OF [INAUDIBLE] THE RECYCLING FOR THE ACTUAL FACILITIES OF THE CITY WILL NOT BE GOING AWAY.

>> THANK YOU, RUPERT. ANYTHING ELSE, THAT'S IT. THANK YOU.

>> ANGELIKA? HI. ARE YOU THERE?

>> YES. HI. SORRY.

[INAUDIBLE]. KICKING OFF FOR ANY STUDENTS OR PARENTS WHO ARE WATCHING THIS MEETING, PLEASE BE ADVISED THE BROWARD EDUCATION FOUNDATION HAS A NUMBER OF SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES THAT ARE OPEN RIGHT NOW. IF YOU GO TO THE WEBSITE OF THE BROWARD EDUCATION FOUNDATION YOU'LL FIND ALL THE OPPORTUNITIES.

I ENCOURAGE EVERYBODY TO VISIT THAT SITE AND SHARE WITH PARENTS WHO ARE LOOKING TO GO TO COLLEGE OR VOCATIONAL OR TECHNICAL OPPORTUNITIES, BECAUSE THERE'S A VARIETY OF OPPORTUNITIES.

>> SHARRY? >> I COMMEND EVERYONE FOR EVERYTHING THEY'VE COMMENTED ON.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE MERIT SCHOLARS. I WOULD LIKE TO COMMEND THE INDIVIDUALS IN THE CITY OF PARKLAND WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE LIGHT UP THE NIGHT EVENT.

THERE WERE LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF BEAUTIFUL ETCHED LANTERNS THAT PEOPLE PUT ON THEIR DRIVEWAYS AT THE END AS IT TO COMMEMORATE IT. I WAS REALLY TOUCHED BY THE WHOLE CONCEPT, THE ARTFUL, THE THOUGHTFULNESS ON A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT LEVELS.

>> YOU ARE CORRECT. WHAT WAS NICE IS DOWN MY STREET WHEN THEY HAD EVERYBODY COME OUT, I THINK IT WAS 8:00, EVERYBODY CAME OUT FOR A MOMENT OF SILENCE.

IT WAS REALLY NICE TO SEE THAT. >> BEAUTIFUL. >> KAREN, WOULD YOU LIKE ADD

[00:10:03]

ANYTHING? DENISE? KENDRA?

NO. LAURIE? >> THANK YOU.

I SHARE THE ACCOLADE TO THE STUDENTS. THAT'S AMAZING, TO HAVE SIX.

THAT'S ANOTHER REASON WHY PARKLAND IS TERRIFIC. ON A PERSONAL NOTE I LIVE IN PARKLAND ISLES, ND I KNOW THERE'S NEVER A GOOD SITUATION TO WHEN THERE'S A CHANGE IN LAND USE OR THE USE OF LAND. I'M SURE IT WAS ZONED COMMERCIAL.

WAS IT ZONED COMMERCIAL, COMMISSIONER? REQUIRING ZONING CHANGES?

OOPS. SORRY. >> WHAT SPECIFIC PARCEL ARE WE

REFERRING TO? >> THE 70 PARCELS THAT ARE IDENTIFIED AS COMMERCIAL FOR THE

LAND THAT'S JUST RECENTLY BEEN RESOLVE AS FAR AS. >> NO.

THE ENTIRE PARCEL IS NOT ZONED COMMERCIAL. >> IT'S NOT ZONED COMMERCIAL?

>> NO. IT'S DEFINITELY NOT. I BELIEVE IT'S ZONED AG.

>> I'M SORRY? >> AGRICULTURAL. >> SO THEY'LL HAVE TO COME

BEFORE THE BOARD TO GET ZONING CHANGES? >> IF THE INTENT IS TO CONSTRUCT COMMERCIAL, THAT IS CORRECT. THERE'LL HAVE TO BE SOME REZONING INVOLVED IN -- REZONING

INVOLVED IN THERE. >> OF COURSE SINCE I LIVE RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET AS DO 606 OTHER HOMES, THEY'RE VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THE TRAFFIC WHICH HAS BEEN ALMOST DANGEROUS BECAUSE OF ALL THE FURTHER BUILDING-OUT OF PARKLAND THAT COMES UP AND DOWN CARL RIDGE DRIVE AND I KNOW IT'S DIFFICULT TO STOP A ZONIG CHANGE BUT DIE HOPE THAT THE CITY WILL STAY ON TOP OF IT AS MUCH AS THEY CAN TO MAKE SURE THAT HERON BAY RESIDENTS ARE HAPPY, PARKLAND ISLE RESIDENTS WILL BE HAPPY. I REMEMBER WHEN WE FIRST BOUGHT IN PARKLAND IT WAS ZONED FOR

ONLY 3 PERCENT COMMERCIAL. WHAT IS THE PERCENTAGE NOW? >> I WOULD VENTURE TO SAY

ROUGHLY MAYBE 5 PERCENT AT MAX. >> FIVE? >> THERE'S NOT A LOT OF

COMMERCIAL IN THE CITY. >> I KNOW. I REMEMBERED ALL THE STATS WHEN WE PURCHASED IT 22 YEARS AGO SO THAT'S JUST ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I KNOW THAT PEOPLE ARE

GOING TO BE REALLY INTERESTED IN. >> NO PROBLEM.

I'LL COMMENT ON THAT. OBVIOUSLY THE CITY IS NOT A PARTY TO ANY AGREEMENTS AT THIS TIME BUT ULTIMATELY WILL BE A PARTY TO WHATEVER DISCUSSION HAD ON THE FRONT.

FROM WHAT I'VE HEARD BECAUSE I'VE NOT SEEN ANYTHING OFFICIALLY THE MAJORITY OF THE PROPERTY IS GOING TO STAY AS GREEN SPACE. THE MAJORITY OF THE PROPERTY IS GOING TO STAY AS GREEN SPACE BUT WE HAVEN'T SEEN ANYTHING OFFICIALLY SUBMITTED TO THE CITY SO EVEN IF IT WAS COMMERCIAL IT WOULD BE A SMALL PORTION OF THAT PROPERTY THAT WOULD BE COMMERCIAL IS WHAT I'M

BEING TOLD. >> AND KNOWING OUR COMMISSIONERS AND OUR MAYOR I'M PRETTY SURE THEY'RE GOING TO MAKE SURE WHATEVER THEY DO IS FOR THE BEST INTEREST OF THE COMMUNITY.

I'M NOT EVEN CONCERNED ABOUT THAT. JUST GO TO THE CITY COMMISSION MEETINGS AND IF YOU HAVE ANY CONCERNS OR ANYTHING THOSE ARE THE TYPES TO BRING THOSE CONCERNS UP BUT I APPRECIATE WHAT YOU'RE SAYING AND WE UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU'RE SAYING AND ESPECIALLY LIVING SO CLOSE BUT I'VE KNOWN THESE GUYS FOR MANY MANY YEARS AND THEY'VE DEFINITELY LOOK OUT FOR THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CITY, THAT'S FOR SURE.

ANYTHING ELSE? OKAY. NEXT, THE APPROVAL OF THE

[7. Approval of the Agenda]

AGENDA. CAN I GET A MOTION TO APPROVE THE AGENDA?

[8. New Business ]

>> PLEASE SHOW IT PASSED THAN NEWSILY. NEXT, NEW BUSINESS WHICH WILL COVER THE -- FIRST THE '21CAB SCHOLARSHIP AND '21 ALL STATE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP AWARD AND SECOND WE'LL GO OVER THE STRATEGIC PLANNING FOR THE CAB DISCUSSION.

>> I DON'T WANT TO TOUCH THE MICROPHONE BECAUSE WE'RE NOT ALLOWED TO.

CAN YOU HEAR ME? >> YES. >> PERFECT.

A BRIEF PRESENTATION ON THE '21 SCHOLARSHIPS. MY AGENDA TONIGHT I'LL TALK ABOUT THE '21CAB SCHOLARSHIP, AND WE'LL TALK ABOUT THE '21 ALL-STAR FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP AND WE'LL GET INTO THE COMMITTEE SELECTION. SO THE CITY OFFERS TWO

[00:15:03]

SCHOLARSHIPS YEARLY, ONE THROUGH THE COMMITTEE ADVISORY BOARD AND ONE THROUGH ALL STATE.

WE WERE FORTUNATE ENOUGH THAT THIS YEAR WELL, ABLE TO CONTINUE THE EFFORT AND OFFER THE SCHOLARSHIPS TO THE PARKLAND STUDENTS SO THE CAB SCHOLARSHIP SEEKS TO RECOGNIZE STUDENTS WITH WITHOUT STANDING COMMUNITY OR CIVIC SERVICE ABOVE THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS OF 40 SERVICE HOURS. THE AWARD ARE WE HAVE ONE FOR $1,000. ONE FOR 600.

ONE FOR 400. THE REQUIREMENTS THAT APPLY, YOU MUST HAVE A CUMULATIVE GPA OF 2.5 OR HIGHER AND YOU MUST HAVE 40 OR MORE HOURS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE.

AS OF TODAY WE'VE RECEIVED TWO APPLICATIONS SO FAR FOR THE CAB WHICH IS GREAT.

THE DOCUMENTS REQUIRED, YOU HAVE TO GET YOUR HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPTS, TWO LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATIONS, ONE FROM THE GRIND COUNSELOR OR TEACHER OR FROM AN INDIVIDUAL WHO WORKED WITH YOU OR A STUDENT ON THE PROJECT AND AN ESSAY OF 250 WORDS OR SESSION.

THE ALL-STAR FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP, THIS IS PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR FINE ARTS INCLUDING MUSIC, DANCE AND ALL FORMS OF ARTS, SPORTS AND JORTC.

IT'S TWO $500 SCHOLARSHIPS. REQUIREMENTS, A GPA OF 2.5 OR HIGHER, 40 HOURS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE. AGAIN, THEY'VE TO PROVIDE A TRANSCRIPT AND REQUIRE AN ESSAY FOR THAT SCHOLARSHIP. JUST A TIMELINE OF THESE SCHOLARSHIP AND REVIEW AND AWARD PROCESS. THE PREVIOUS CAB COMMITTEE WAS MADE UP OF ABOUT FOUR MEMBERS.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR AN APPLICATION SUBMITTAL DEADLINE OF FRIDAY, MARCH 26.

ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 31, THE APPLICATION RANKING PACKAGE WILL BE DISTRIBUTED TO THE COMMITTEE BY EMAIL OF COURSE AND ON MONDAY, APRIL 19TH, I WILL REQUIRE THE RANKING OF THOSE PACKAGES BACK FROM THE COMMITTEE. TUESDAY, APRIL 27, AND WEDNESDAY, APRIL 28 WE'LL HAVE INTERVIEWS. WE'LL HAVE TO DISCUSS HOW WE GO ABOUT DOING THEM. LAST WE DID THEM IN PERSON. WE MAY HAVE TO MODIFY THE PROCESS BUT WE'LL TALK ABOUT IT AS A COMMITTEE HOW WE APPROACH IT GOING FORWARD.

WE CAN DO A ZOOM INTERVIEW. MAY 11, WHEN WE COME BACK FOR THE BOARD MEETING, WE'LL GO AHEAD AND DO THE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR AWARD. MAY 19 I'LL TAKE THOSE BOARD RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE CITY COMMISSION FOR FINAL DISTRIBUTION TO THE RECIPIENTS.

THAT BASICALLY ENDS MY PRESENTATION AND I'M GOING TO TURN IT BACK OVER TO THE BOARD.

>> WELL, HAVING BEEN A PART OF THIS SELECTION PROCESS FOR MANY YEARS BECAUSE I WAS ON THE EDUCATION ADVISORY BOARD PRIOR TO THIS AND I KNOW SEVERAL OF YOU HAVE BEEN A PART OF IT AS WELL, IT'S THOSE NEW HERE, IT'S REALLY AMAZING TO SEE WHAT THESE KIDS DO.

YOU'D BE SHOCKED. WHEN YOU READ THE ESSAYS AND LOOK AT THEIR GAPS, AND REQUIRING 40 HOURS OF COMMUNITY SERVICE, I THINK SOME OF THESE KIDS DO 40 HOURS IN THEIR SLEEP BECAUSE YOU'LL BE SURPRISED WHEN YOU SEE HOW MANY HOURS THE KIDS HAVE OUT THERE AS FAR AS COMMUNITY SERVICE. IT'S AMAZING. WE HAVE TWO THINGS WE'VE GOT TO COVER. WE HAVE TO FIRST COVER WHO WANTS TO BE A PART OF THE COMMITTEE GOING THROUGH THE PACKAGES AND THEN NEXT WE ALSO WANT TO HAVE A COMMITTEE THAT WILL DO THE INTERVIEW PROCESS AS WELL. I DEFINITELY LIKE BOTH BUT I DON'T WANT TO BE GREEDY.

I WANT TO OPEN IT UP. ANGELIKA HAS BEEN A PART OF THIS.

I KNOW YOU'RE ON HOLD OVER THERE. DO YOU HAVE ANY INTEREST IN ANY

ONE OF THE TWO? >> [INAUDIBLE]. >> PERFECT.

USUALLY WE HAVE SOMETIMES FOUR. >> I THINK WE HAD FOUR THE LAST TIME.

>> ANYBODY ELSE INTERESTED IN DOING THE INTERVIEWS VERSUS THE ACTUAL GOING THROUGH THE

PACKAGES? >> I SERVED LAST YEAR BUT WE HAVE SOME NEW MEMBERS.

>> KAREN, IT'S INTERESTING TO GO THROUGH THE PACKETS, IT REALLY IS.

OKAY. CARA. WE HAVE YOU DOING THE PACKETS.

>> I'LL DO THE PACKETS ALSO. >> SO WE HAVE SHARRY ON THE PACKETS.

[00:20:07]

WE HAVE SHARRY. >> WE HAVE KENDRA. HOW ABOUT YOU, JEFF?

>> WHATEVER YOU NEED. BOTH. >> I LOVE DOING THE INTERVIEWS AS WELL SO I'LL BE GREEDY AND TAKE THE INTERVIEWS BECAUSE I DID THE PACKAGE LAST TIME SO I'M GOING TO DO THE INTERVIEW THIS TIME DO . WE HAVE YOU DOING THE PACKAGE.

DO YOU KNOW TO DO THE INTERVIEW? >> I'LL DO IT. >> JEFF.

ONE MORE FOR THE PACKAGE? I GUESS THAT WILL BE PERFECT. YEAH.

I THINK WE GOT EVERYBODY. FOR THE INTERVIEW PROCESS, WE'LL HAVE JEFF AND KENDRA AND ANGELIKA AND MYSELF AND FOR THE PACKETS WE'RE GOING TO HAVE CARA, SHARRY, LAURIE, AND

DENISE. >> MAY I ASK A CLARIFYING QUESTION, PLEASE, ABOUT THE

INTERVIEW? >> ABSOLUTELY. I JUST WANTED TO CONFIRM THAT WE CAN DO THOSE VIRTUALLY AND ALSO I WAS CURIOUS, FROM PRIOR YEAR'S EXPERIENCE, DO YOU HAVE A SENSE OF HOW MANY APPLICANTS WE GET AND HOW MANY ADVANCE TO THE INTERVIEW STAGE?

>> THANK FOR THE TEST QUESTION. I'LL TAKE THE EASIER QUESTION FIRST.

WITH REGARD TO THE VIRTUAL INTERVIEWS MOST DEFINITELY WE CAN ACCOMMODATE THAT.

I THINK THAT MAY BE THE BEST WAY TO GO BUT I'LL LEAVE IT UP TO THE BOARD TO MAKE THAT DECISION WITH REGARDS TO THE APPLICATION I DON'T HAVE THAT NUMBER BUT I'LL PROVIDE IT VIA EMAIL TO THE

BOARD. >> CAN WE DO BOTH POSSIBLY? I JUST KNOW WITH THE KIDS SOMETIMES HAVING THEM IN FRONT -- SOME PEOPLE WANT TO DO VIRTUAL WHICH IS NOT A PROBLEM.

IS THERE A WAY OF DOING IT WHERE SOME OF US CAN BE HERE WITH THE STUDENTS IF THEY WANT TO APPEAR AND ALSO DO IT VIRTUAL FOR LIKE ANGELIKA THAT MIGHT WANT TO DO IT VIRTUAL?

IS THERE A WAY TO DO A HYBRID OR NOT? >> WHAT I WAS SAYING WAS THE VIDEO ASPECT OF IT, THE YOUNG ADULT WANTS TO BE IN A ROOM EIGHT PRESENTING LIKE THEY'RE DOING A SPEECH OR SOMETHING, THAT'S HARD TO CAPTURE ON ZOOM IF WE DON'T HAVE EVERYBODY IN

ONE SPOT. >> EXACTLY. YOU JUST ANSWERED THE QUESTION.

IT'S BETTER TO DO IT THROUGH ZOOM TO MAKE IT EASY FOR EVERYBODY?

>> RIGHT. IT'S EITHER ALL ZOOM OR ALL LIVE.

>> EXACTLY. I SAY WE GO WITH ALL ZOOM AND LEAVE IT LIKE THAT.

BECAUSE EVEN THE KIDS MIGHT FEEL MORE POST DOING IT THAT AWAY. >> PERFECT.

I'LL GET AN ANSWER ON THE TOTAL APPLICANTS. >> THE TOTAL APPLICANTS IS

DIFFERENT THAN THE AMOUNT OF INTERVIEWS. >> THAT IS CORRECT.

IT'S WHITTLED DOWN FROM [INAUDIBLE]. >> I REMEMBER LIKE FIVE OR SIX INTERVIEWS. IT WASN'T LIKE A LOT OF INTERVIEWS.

IT'S ABOUT THAT; IS THAT RIGHT? >> YES. >> ANYTHING ELSE, ANGELIKA?

>> NO. YOU ANSWERED MY QUESTION. THANK YOU.

>> PERFECT. PERFECT. WE'RE DONE WITH THE SCHOLARSHIP.

>> NO, NO. CAN I ASK A QUESTION? >> YES.

HOW MANY SCHOLARSHIPS DO WE HAVE? TWO OR THREE?

THE FLYER HAS THREE. >> THREE SCHOLARSHIPS BUT ONLY TWO COME TO THIS BOARD.

THE THIRD IS AN INDEPENDENT SCHOLARSHIP THAT THE OWNERS OF THE ENGINEERING COMPANY DECIDED TO PROVIDE TO THE CITY DEPARTMENT WHO ARE DOING CONSTRUCTION AND ENGINEERING.

WE DON'T GET INVOLVED WITH THAT. THEY DO IT DIRECTLY. >> ANOTHER QUESTION, IT SAYS IF YOU LIVE IN THE CITY OF PARKLAND THEN YOU CAN APPLY FOR THEM. HOWEVER I NOTICED, AND [INAUDIBLE] THAT ON THE ALL-STAR FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP THEY ONLY ACCEPT THEM FROM [INAUDIBLE] AND

GO TO OTHER SCHOOLS AND [INAUDIBLE]. >> I'LL TAKE A LOOK AT THAT.

THE APPLICATION IS SPECIFICALLY IF YOU ARE A HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT LIVING IN THE CITY OF PARKLAND.

I'LL TAKE A LOOK. AN FYI, THE ALL-STAR PROVISIONS THAT WAS PROVIDED WAS DONE FOR

MULTIPLE YEARS SO I'LL GO AHEAD AND TAKE A LOOK AT IT, FOR SURE. >> I REMEMBER LAST YEAR WE HAD

[00:25:04]

SOME STUDENTS FROM OTHER SCHOOLS OTHER THAN THAT. >> GREAT QUESTIONS.

I'LL PROVIDE CLARIFICATION ON THAT. >> THANKS.

>> SO I THINK WE'VE GOT THAT COVERED. SO NOW I GUESS THE SECOND THING WAS THE STRATEGIC PLANNING DISCUSSION THAT YOU WANTED TO HAVE.

>> YES. >> THIS IS REALLY, REALLY SHORT. AT THE PREVIOUS MEETING WE TALKED ABOUT HAVING DIFFERENT PROJECTS FOR US TO WORK ON AT THIS UPCOMING MEETING SO BESIDES THE ACTUAL SCHOLARSHIP PROCESS WE'RE GOING TO GO THROUGH, THE COMMISSIONERS ARE GOING TO RECONVENE APRIL 11 AND APRIL 12 STRATEGIC PLANNING SESSION AND AT THAT MEETING THEY'LL BE LOOKING AT VARIOUS BOARDS INCLUDING OURS AND LOOKING AT ROLES AND FUNCTION AND THERE'S A POS ABOUT I WILLTY OF THE CREATION OF SUBCOMMITTEES FOR OUR BOARDS WHEN SPECIFIC FUNCTION THAT REPORT BACK TO THE MAIN BOARD AND ULTIMATELY THE COMMISSION.

I DON'T HAVE A LOT OF INFORMATION NOW BECAUSE THAT WILL [INAUDIBLE] WHEN WE GET BACK TO OUR MAIN MEETING I SHOULD HAVE A GOOD ROADMAP FOR US MOVING FORWARD.

>> YOU KNOW COMMISSIONER CUTLER, WE'RE HERE FOR YOU. WHATEVER WE CAN DO TO HELP YOU OUT. THAT'S A FACT. DOES THAT CONCLUDE FOR NEW

BUSINESS? >> YES, IT DOES. >> NEXT ON THE AGENDA IS OLD

[9. Old Business ]

BUSINESS. >> ALSO ANOTHER QUICK ITEM. SO THE CALENDAR THAT WE APPROVED AS A BOARD, IT'S BEEN RATIFIED SO OUR MEETINGS, AND I'LL JUST READ IT FOR THE RECORD ARE.

THE NEXT MEETING, MAY 11, '21. THEN THERE'S A JULY 13, '21 MEETING.

WE ALSO HAVE A SEPTEMBER 14TH MEETING AND A NOVEMBER 9TH MEETING.

THESE ARE ALL THE MEETINGS THAT WE REQUESTED AS A BOARD AND IT'S BEEN APPROVED BY THE CITY

COMMISSION. >> JULY? >> JULY 13TH.

>> JULY 13TH. GREAT. PERFECT.

SO THAT DOES IT FOR OLD BUSINESS? >> YES.

[10. Comments from Staff ]

>> DO YOU HAVE ANY COMMENTS FROM THE STAFF. >> NONE TONIGHT.

JUST, YOU KNOW, THE DIFFERENT COMMITTEE MEMBERS THAT WERE SELECTED FOR THE SCHOLARSHIPS, I'LL GO AHEAD AND WE'LL DO A LOT OF OUR COMMUNICATION VIA EMAIL UNTIL MAY AND WE'LL COMMUNICATE AS A GROUP SO FEEL FREE TO DO A REPLY ALL AND WE'LL MAKE SURE THE PROCESS GOES AS SMOOTHLY AS

POSSIBLE. >> I THANK EVERYONE FOR BEING HERE TONIGHT AND MAKING THE CITY OF PLANCH A MUCH BETTER PLACE BECAUSE OF EVERYTHING YOU DO. LIKE HE SAID THE NEXT MEETING IS TUESDAY, MAY 11, AND WITH THAT BEING SAID, CAN I GET A MOTION TO ADJOURN?

>> I'LL MAKE A MOTION TO ADJOURN. >> SECOND?

>> . >> YES. >>

[VOTE] >> WE ARE NOW
